I had called Tom B. Morrisey Appliances in Myerstown, PA. asking for an estimate on fixing a washer that was making a grinding noise and that I ordered a part from ************.com that included a video on how to replace it. The employee Dan told me that it was a 139.00 dollars so I asked does that include installing the part which he responded yes and explained that since I already had the part if they needed to order anything else then I would be charged the cost of the parts and 49.50 to come back and install them. I asked how do I schedule for them to come out and install the washer part that I already had purchased. Dan replied that he will take my name and they contact me the day before for someone to be at the house. I asked again about the charge and was told by Dan that it is 139.00 for everything. I went ahead and told him to add me and gave him my information. A week later a lady Nicole called to schedule the installation and said between 10am-2pm on 3/19/2022, I asked about the price that Dan told me and she reassured that it is 139.00 for the tech to install the part that I had bought for my washer. The tech came the next day and installed the part I had bought. I called my wife and asked to speak to the tech. On speakerphone I asked how was everything. He replied that he was testing it as he had finished and asked if I wanted for him to dispose the defective part that he had replaced with the one I had already bought, which I declined. He didn’t mention any extra billing charges. Today on 3/23/2022 I get a bill for the 139.00 that I was quoted plus a labor fee of 79.00 dollars. I called and questioned Nicole about the charge and she answer that the tech added that because he was here for one hour and a half. I was told twice that it was 139.00 for everything. She then said that it was the owner who added the charge. I disputed the charge and told her I will pay 139.00+tax as I was told by Dan and her, and nothing more as they lied and are dishonest.
