Avoid! They will charge you exorbitant amount for a subpar service (their workers have no clue about job). When you complain their ***** manager will try to gaslight you. Terrible manners, greedy sad figure. Their customer service is non-existent. They will pretend that they will refund you or fix the issue but at the end none of that will happen. (Mind it, if they didn't destroy your place to begin with, it wouldn't need fixing). Spare yourself a headache and choose a professional company, this one is not it!Scott R. *****, I apologize that your experience with Scott **** has not been a 5 star experience. We strive to make sure each customer has a quality experience. In review of your situation, were more than happy to further discuss resolving your concern. However, we'd need the requested invoice from the plumber you used to complete the work for review. Once that is submitted to us, we can take the necessary steps to resolve this issue.
Please contact us so we can take these steps.
Kindly.

I had my a/c condenser stop working on a Sunday called Scott **** for an emergency call. And I knew they were going to charge more for being a Sunday and it was expected ($119 plus a $10 fuel surcharge). But I wasn't expecting the mark up on parts to be so egregious and the explanation from management was that they have to pay their people, isn't that the point of a $129 Sunday fee. The part in question was a capacitor costing $380 when in fact the part costs under $20. To my understanding thats price gouging in blatant terms. my unit is still under warranty from the manufacturer (day and night) and should have been covered. Management is refusing a full refund instead only offered a half off deal, which they see as fair. To just end the debate and back and forth I begrudgingly accepted. I would not recommend them for anything the way they price ***** people when they're desperate. They are price gouging people.Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Response

****************, I'm sorry you feel this way. It is company policy that we charge an additional evaluation/diagnostic fee on the weekends, as these hours are considered to be "afterhours". You agreed to the afterhours evaluation fee of $129 + repair costs to get a technician to your home. We value you as a customer, and have agreed to refund you a portion of the parts and labor charges. You accepted the refund offer of $257.50 and was refunded to your credit card.

I called to have a couple new valves soldered onto the copper pipes coming into the laundry room. I told them exactly what I needed done on the phone, and they told me it would be $49.I had them come do the repair, and after the guy got there, he told me it would be over $500. It was leaking at the time, and I needed it fixed asap, so they really had me over a barrel. This is a 15 to 30 minute job at most. These guys are crooks. Find an independent plumber.Review from rick s

do not hire scott **** plumbing had them come out on a deaf and handicap person on nov. 23 the day before thanksgiving they did not fix the furnace and charged $157.00. The deaf and handicap person was without heat over thanksgiving weekend. The repairman said he cleaned the flame sensor when i got home on sunday night I took the sensor out it had not been cleaned off he said he moved the egnightor which cant be moved it is bolted down. He said he did a few other miner things but he didnt fix the furnace. He blew the fuse that feeds the electric to the furnace and did not fix that. So the furnace didnt even have power when he left. All he wanted was for me to replace the furnace. When i said no he didnt seem to care anymore. I wasnt there but he had my credit card so i didnt have a say in the matter and he charged the $157.00. I called another heating conpant on Nov. 29 they came right out and fixed the furnace. Do not hire this company. I have gone to bank and disputed this charge. I am fare in paying my bills but when they dont perform or do what they say they will do and leave a handicap person without heat over a weekend is just wrong. do not hire this company.Review from Deb F

Scott **** Plumbing (SHP) replaced our 13 year old central air unit after it froze up. The work was done in June and we paid over $7000. Two months later, the unit had stopped working. SHP informed us that the blower motor (an essential part of the function of the A/C) was not working up to specs and was likely the cause. Though the blower motor is essential to the function of the new unit, it was not replaced as it is shared by the A/C and furnace. The **** manager said that discussion about this normally takes place at the consideration of a new unit. Nothing was mentioned. The technician who came out inspected and cleaned intake vents, made some adjustments and left with the unit running. We have since spoken with the manager of the **** division. He informs us that they would happily install a furnace for us at a reduced rate. (We declined due to lack of confidence.) We have since received calls regarding setting up an appointment for our new furnace installation, having a technician out to check our furnace out as part of our service plan (which we dont have), and today the occupant of our home was contacted directly to give SHP access to our furnace. Today when I spoke with the **** manager. He informed me that the technician who was most recently out had made notes about some things that needed tidying up. The issue of things needing tidying up was never mentioned before and the manager could not tell me specifically what these things were, but mentioned they were for our safety regarding venting and that it was a free service call. After our call, he sent me notes regarding checking the flue. On their website, Scott **** Plumbing identifies themselves as a company you can trust. Unfortunately, we are not certain about this.Review from CC C

Immoral and Unethical I did business with Scott **** Plumbing a few years ago and thought they were wonderful. I have referred several people to them since. However, my father recently passed away. I have been shocked to discover that they charged my sick and elderly father nearly $8,000 for a water heater that should have been $1200 - $2,000 tops, and helped arrange financing for $200/month for years to come. Since his passing, both Scott **** and the finance company have refused to accept a settlement (yes, we offered one - at a very reasonable amount) or to work with us. They continue to harass my 75-year-old mother, who is on a very fixed income, to send collection notices, and to threaten her with a lien on her home. Scott **** says it's not their problem at this point. We disagree. For a company who tries to sell an image of honor and family values, they couldn't be more off. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Scott ****. Since negative stars is not an option, we gave them one.Review from Nicholas D

Had them come out to just do a simple AC Tune-up based on some SPP program they sold me on. That was my first mistake. ****** came out for the appointment. Neither my wife or I like ******. He was brash, rude, and unprofessional. After looking at our 2 AC units he approached my wife and says there are 2 things. One is mandatory and the other is optional. She of course said to do just the mandatory that we will research the optional service, and he said under his breath even though my wife could still hear "I went to school I know what the f#%$ I am talking about". He also dropped the * word in my basement when he was looking at my AC damper system. He seemed utterly confused like he had never seen one before. Either way he was toying around with the damper system that I paid $4k to have installed. He said well hopefully this doesn't short it as he kept unplugging and plugging wires in and out of it. Then he left and took payment over phone which was strange. Did he keep my credit card number that was said over the phone? Later that evening it began to get warm up stairs. Later to find out that our AC has been on for hours but the temp is not dropping. Warm air if coming from the vents. We went from have a working AC units to non-working AC units after using Scott ***** SPP service. I texted the number that they texted me on a couple time informing of my issues. No response whatsoever after 16 hours. I then call them and then they want to charge me $109 for them to come out and fix what they had broken. DO NOT USE SCOTT **** AND CERTAINLY DO NOT SIGN UP *OR THEIR MONTHLY PROGRAM. I am now needing to do a chargeback on my card.Review from MICHAEL H

They are a total rip off. My sister called them. Furnace was not working. Came out and said the furnace needed replacing and it would be $8000.00. I told he to tell them no. Had another company come out today. Cleaned sensor and replaced the filter. Good to go. Avoid Scott **** Plumbing.Review from Terry S

Total rip-off! Our kitchen sink was leaking into the basement, unfortunately I didn't check BBB first before calling Scott Hale Plumbing. They put in a new faucet that they just happen to have in their van, they charged us $600 for it!!!! but gave us no cut sheet or even a brand name. The faucet lasted for about 3 months and then it fell apart, literally! They came back to put it back together and tighten it up once. The second time it fell apart we contacted the manager who said they would make it right and nobody ever showed up! Also, while the plumber from Scott Hale was giving us an estimate he told us about a water damage business, we said give us the number and we will call them IF we need them (which we didn't) but the next thing I know they are in my house with huge fans ready to tear everything out! They scratched my hardwood floor!! Then the plumber took it upon themselves to file a claim with my home owners insurance and tried to talk us into having a whole new kitchen put in!!!! They couldn't have paid more than $50 for the crappy faucet they put in. They gouge customers and are scammers on top of it
