In the 6 months since SPS took over the servicing of my mortgage, they incorrectly paid our taxes, incorrectly issued our 1098 forms, did not adjust our grossly inflated escrow account until they were called out on it, and then "lost" the refund check (issued without tracking information, and then would not provide any actual proof that it had been sent). During this debacle, all the communication and corrective actions had to be initiated from my end. Now, SPS refuses to proactively communicate on any issues and will not provide any status updates as to when the replacement check is being mailed (maybe not for another 30 days, and forget any EFT or electronic deposit). Their (intentional?) mismanagement of our payments and reserves closely resembles a check kiting scheme where they realize they will only be servicing these portfolio loans for a limited time, so they drag their heels and move the money around internally as long as possible to maximize their earnings on our accounts. All the while, denying us access to our own funds. I hope to move our business out of SPS ASAP so you can shut these criminals down. (Tried to leave zero stars.)Review from John R

Extremely rude and condescending customer service team. I wish my mortgage was sold to any other servicer. I am about to spend $15k just to refinance and change servicers. The customer service rep was incompetent and didn't know a thing about banking or even the platform they use to manage my loan. They have no playbook, it seems they hire people with no skills and stick them in a chair until they quit and then replace. Really really bad business and the owners should be held accountable for such a poor experience.Review from timothy t

If there was an option for less than zero stars they would get it. Worst loan company ive ever dealt with. Soo many problems we got a different loan to pay this one off just because theyre soo difficult. they send letters with $0.00 balance due but call everyday demanding more money and holding our title hostage. Select Portfolio Servicing has managed my mortgage very well in the past few years. They have been understanding and willing to work with me when challenging times have occurred. They are responsive and explain any concerns I may have had in every situation. I could not say enough about this company as I am completely satisfied with their servicing of my mortgage. I cant of a single discrepancy I could list for anyone's information. They are first class in every way possible. A+++Review from Jay K

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, hands down! My mother passed away recently & I learned that Select Portfolio has a judgment against her from 7 years ago & they have a lien on my mothers home. I have been calling everyday for the past 3 weeks to find out about this judgment. Every time I send them information they say I need to send it to a different department. They have had me jumping through hoops, talking to a different person every time only to get nowhere. Not once have I spoken to a supervisor or a manager, its always the customer service department. Finally, I got somewhat of an answer. They said that there was no payoff for the judgement. I told them if there is no payoff, then o need a recorded lien release on my mothers property. They gave me an email address & said that I needed to email them with an ************ will review it to see if they accept it, then release the lien. Why in the world would I make them an offer if there is no payoff!! This is getting ridiculous. Like I said, worst company I have ever dealt withever!!Review from Mechelle E

My mortgage loan matures 4/27/2024. I called today 4/9/2024 because I received a letter stating that there were insufficient funds to pay off my loan last month. I called SPS to see why I received that since my loan had not matured. First I was told that I cannot go by the dates or the dollar amount that is in the letters. I should have requested a payoff amount. Then I was told that they "fronted" me the money that was not paid and I need to mail them a certified check. Then she begins to lecture me about how they are not going to release my lien until I send the balance owed. I told her that I was questioning that, because I know they can't release it. I just want to know why they paid it early and what my true payoff would be. She told me that she could not request a payoff because SPS had already requested one and they cannot order another one. She told me that I was supposed to contact them 30 days ago and request one. I told her that I have never had to request a payoff amount on a loan unless I was paying it off early. She told me in a condescending tone that with all loans that you are required to request it. She kept treating me like I was ignorant. She read the same letter to me 5 times and finally acknowledged that the letter did say April 27, 2024 was the maturity date. She said I don't know why they paid it early but that doesn't matter, you owe us the money we paid for you. She told me the amount on the last letter was the correct amount. I asked her how do I know since she said I can't depend on what the letter states. She told me that I could take it to the bank it was accurate. She again said let me read the letter again and break it down more simple for you. I told her no because every time she read it that she told me something different. This is not the first time I have had trouble with them. The is a horrible business. They are very dishonest I don't understand how they are allowed to continue to operate.Review from Leigh H

In August of 2023 I filed a Request for Mortgage Assistance. For NINE MONTHS they have hit me with dozens of requests for additional information - all of which I complied with. Six months after I first filed they said the information was out of date and I had to redo every form and refile everything so it was current - which I did. I suspect their underwriting department has no intention of ever granting anyone mortgage assistance. They are either liars or incompetent. They have hit me with the SAME request for information on 3-4 issues over and over and even though I have complied and uploaded the information multiple times they just circle back and start rejecting the *** all over again with the same issue needing clarification. I have spoke with their customer service dozens of times over the past nine months and nobody in underwriting or customer service ever reads the transcript of my prior calls so it starts all over again. I can't speak with underwriting and their customer service reps say they can't either. I even sent them a letter on advice of my attorney asking for a transcript of our conversation since the beginning and they said they wouldn't comply and my attorney would have to contact their attorney about it. My only option at this point is to engage with an attorney to legally demand the information and prove that they are liars and have no intention of granting mortgage relief. Has anyone ever received mortgage relief from these incompetent liars? Anyone know of a class action attorney taking action against this company?Review from Sean M

Worst company ever! My loan was paid off 2 weeks ago in full. They call numerous times a day stating I am late. I called one week ago to verify that that they received my payment and they confirmed receipt of the payment. Yet, the calls keep coming. I have asked them not to call, I have sent certified letters asking them not to call. They have broken every "Do not call" law on the books. This company is a predator at best. God help you if you fall on hard times. This company will take your home and have no shame about it. Write your local congress person if you are having challenges with this corrupt company.Review from Paula N

They are not looking out for fraud in my case I told them was the case I received no paperwork they sent said paperwork to ***** ** ****** *** ******* *** instead of ***** ********* **. where I live. I have requested paperwork of transfer from Wells Fargo and and all documentation from their files. I have received neither especially when you I owe you $87,900 for a house that I don't live in .The person who's name name being used is Diane K***** who I know is that dead. These people got my name when I was helping my father take care of my mom who had cancer and who was going through kimo and radiation therapy to treat her cancer. They bought 2 cars in my name one a Mercedes and the other Ford vehicle. She also took out loans in the amount of $5,000 . Plus she has ordered things from a catalog in the amount of over $3,000. She has done lots of things which I will report.to my bank again. If I have no luck there I will see your services to get things resolved.
