I had a building built October of 2023. In Wisconsin. The building is built solid the crew that put it up was good. But the sales rep I had sucked and the customer support sucks. Seems they are more interested in taking your money before seeing if you’re happy with the building . They were asking for final payment before the building was finished and the second it was done they had their palm in your face !! I’m happy with the building but I think I would have looked at a couple other options if I had to do it again

We are in receipt of this customers review. The building is completed and the client has paid in full which we appreciate greatly. As we understood the situation, our client does not live in the area where the building was built. The sales person on the job contacted the client preemptively to arrange a site meeting to walk through the building knowing the building would be complete within the next couple days. We did not intend to come off as assertive as we did, and our only intention was to schedule an appointment to look over the finished project knowing ahead of time that the client would need to schedule accordingly since they were coming from out of town. We appreciate the clients business and are pleased to hear they are happy with the building. Several years ago I had Cleary build a shop for me and it went very well. They were responsive, quick, and did an excellent job. This company has changed. I have another contract with them for another project. They were supposed to be here a week and a half ago to check a couple measurements. They never came or contacted me at all. The rep has left the company, they told me whoever takes over the project would be in contact with me the following week. That was 2 weeks ago and nobody has contacted me. Whatever measurements they needed 2 weeks ago have not been made and nobody has contacted me. Cleary is definitely not the responsible and trustworthy company they used to be. Be smart and find a different company to build for you, I'm stuck in this mess and I hope you have better luck somewhere else.Update! It's now June 27th, our start date was 4 days ago and plans haven't even been submitted to the regional building department yet! The start date came and went without even a phone call from Cleary! This is not the same company they used to be. Once again I say "find a different company to build for you". They will give excuses and no information on when they will actually be starting the work. I've dealt with crooked contractors before and this company is just as bad.2nd update! Its now August 21st, the build date was 2 months ago. They finally got plans finished and to me, I immediately submitted them to the regional building department. Their plans were rejected by the county and so far they have done nothing about it. This is a very simple add on to an existing Cleary building and they seem incapable of doing the job. We still have no new build date. Its time to contact the corporate office, the BBB, and social media. Once again I say "find a different company to build for you". This company does not have any idea what they are doing.

Our Region Manager has made contact with this client and is working with the county to expedite any open issues to get this project under construction.

Cleary will NOT take care of you if you have a problem once final payment is made! Do NOT use Cleary Building for your pole barn needs! Find someone local who cares about their reputation and build a quality building where they won't skimp on quality!

The building in question was damaged by 80+ MPH winds after completion of the building and contract. The building was constructed to the industry standards and a destructive storm took place. We are in contact with the client and working toward an amicable solution at this time.

First, this is not a reflection on the hard working employees. But Cleary has a scheme that requires a 20% down payment on a product that is not delivered for 12 months +/_. They flaunt their charitable works, which uses our money and gets them a tax break and recognition. Current times have taken a toll on qualified labor and supply delivery, but we were assured this was not a problem with Cleary. The local rep made continual promises that were not met. When we contacted Cleary Corp we were referred back to local. Our contract was signed April 19, 2022. We paid a 20% deposit. Materials were delivered October 28, 2022, stacked on the ground and exposed to weather andcritters. We paid an additional 50%. Work began January 24, 2023. We have paid an additional 15%, first for drilling in rock.We had showed a test hole dug by us to the rep initially which exposed rock and he said it was not a problem. Later he claimed the required depth was set by our county. NOT TRUE, it was required by Cleary. The resulting structure was then inaccessible and we paid for a ramp.It is now February 26, 2023. The structure lacks any electrical work, has one half of the roof that needs to be replaced, a side door that does not close properly and trim that needs to be adjusted. The overhead door does not close properly because the installer said the concrete floor is not level. As said, the workers did their best with insufficient and continually changing help. We were told that Cleary will not pay above minimum wage. We do not recommend this company to anyone.

Dear *** or madam, There was no scheme that went on with this or any contract that we utilize on all building projects. Payment terms are established and agreed to. The 12+ months statement is not accurate. The project was signed in April of 2022 and shipped in October. The digging change order was signed which is part of the contractual agreement. All service/punch list items are being addressed at this time. And the delay with the electrical sub contract work is due to site access and we expect that to conclude just as soon as possible pending ************* to the site. The main issue involving that is we do not want to cause any damage to the clients property. *********************** General Manager-Eastern Operations Cleary Building Corp.

The response does not address any of the issues. Yes, payment terms are established in the contract. The same contract that says tentative start date for erection shall be July/August 2022. Instead it was January 2023, but Cleary made no adjustment for payments due to the 4-5 month delay, and delivered materials for 50% of the contract price when they still did not begin construction for another 3 months. It is now March 2023, eleven months after we signed the contract and the structure lacks electricity, and half a completed roof, not to mention inspection. The response mentions not causing damage to our property? What does this mean? The electrical work should not require any equipment that would damage anything. There has been no problem with site access. We haven't moved, the structure hasn't moved, the roads are the same. Periodic rains didn't stop Cleary from delivering the materials which were left outside, uncovered, including those in cardboard, or pouring the concrete. The comment that the change order was part of the contractural agreement ignores my statement that we were told conditions were not a problem which should mean there was no need for a change order. My response stands as initially stated.

Earlier this year I contracted with Cleary to build a 40'x24' shed, and while I have no complaints about the shed Cleary caused damaged to my driveway that ended up in an extra near $30,000 for replacement and sealing. In setting the site, they brought heavy equipment up my asphalt driveway and caused numerous cracks in the pavement. While the driveway did have some wear, we did think it had another seven or so years of life. The representative who sold us the shed inspected the damage and then we didn't hear from him for weeks. We learned he had retired. We tracked down a suitable office at Cleary and had another representative come out and visit. He claimed... that their vehicles had to have access and that the damage was inevitable and not their problem. We pointed out that there was access across neighboring fields and that no-one had asked about access. Further, their crew knew that they were doing damage as they tried to ameliorate it by laying gravel/sand adjacent to where they did the damage. We got no satisfaction or offer of help from Cleary. Our insurance company agreed with the damage caused by Cleary and did give us 6K to help with replacement. So word to the wise... be careful. Just another reason not to trust a contractor.

We have had past communications with this client involving the issues with the driveway to the property. And we have denied responsibility as well. The drive is relatively deteriorated, and yes the excavation sub contractor did add some gravel in spots to try to alleviate the issues. It is clear in our contract that access to the building site is required, and Cleary Building Corp. nor our sub contractors are responsible for damage from access. No other option was provided for access to the building site by the client other than using the driveway entrance.

The driveway was not that deteriorated and certainly it was in much worse shape when they left. Furthermore, they never checked with me about access. There are a number of access points for heavy farm equipment on our land and they did not see fit to use those. Our insurance company agreed with the damage and did offer some compensation. I want other potential customers of Cleary to beware. After doing the damage they did not offer any help and just went away. Their salesman stopped communicating and retired. It would be better to find a more trustworthy provider.
