Very disappointed for NOT taking responsibility for the damage done. History- my kitchen sink was draining slow, not plugged. With the following week being Thanksgiving i thought I would have some preventative maintenance done. I called Roto-Rooter to come and auger my sink. I thought it was a little unusual as he was teaching another and talking about how he has seen his auger go thru a pipe and seen it dancing around outside a window before. I was quite amazed at the story. He then asked his "trainee" to go downstairs to see if he could hear the auger in the pipes. I escorted the young man downstairs; we found where the auger was as it had gone thru a pipe in the basement and slug was squirting out. The "trainee" went and grabbed him. He then came downstairs and said you need a plumber. Packed up and left. It was Thursday, 4:00 pm. How was I going to get a plumber here before the weekend. I called around. I did get an appointment for Monday and would be put on "standby" incase their jobs went faster than expected on Friday. I received a call mid-day on Friday, the plumber could come. When the plumber arrived, he couldn't believe the damage that was done. Clearly, he stated this was no fault of yours. This is definitely Roto-rooters doing and should be responsible for the repairs/bill. You should be sending them the invoice to repay you. I contacted Roto-Rooter, and basically was told by Tara, your pipes were rotted. Hmmmm...never seen Tara at my house. The plumber had provided me with a report of the work done. Tara basically ended our call with "call a plumbing inspector". So, now I should have a third bill? Might be a reason they are not BBB Accredited!
