This is a company that uses the legal system to garnish wages of an unemployed person. Its amazing that the US allows this type of scenario. I was never contacted prior to a subpoena. This company should not be allowed to do this type of thing

The debt collection agency did nothing to represent my dispute of a large and unjust debt. After providing ample supporting evidence of my dispute the agency responded with a short 3 paragraph letter from the accuser saying that I do owe the money with no further explanation or proof.I received no explanation of how the decision was made or any response to the specific arguments I made.

After review of Mr. ********** account AAI understands his frustrations.  Unfortunately on the same day he filed this complaint with the BBB Mr. ******** asked us to Cease and Desist all communication, which is why he never received the account information he is referencing.  We are happy to mail or email the itemization, contract, etc. if he contacts us and asks for it, but with that Cease and Desist our hands are currently tied.  As far as credit reporting goes *** does not credit report, so there is nothing to remedy based on Mr. ********** request on his "Desired Settlement" part of the BBB dispute.  Again, we are happy to release information on request, but so far have not had that come through our office.

    Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:
This company has a serious issue with honesty.
After explaining my frustrations to their associate ****** *******,
she responded by telling me to stop emailing her and pay up as you can see in the email attached.
After this happened I responded with a cease and desist.

Yet, their representative responds here as if they were trying to reach some understanding with me but couldn't because I issued a cease and desist.

Because the communication was so limited, I have no idea how they intend to proceed with my refusal to pay.
Most collection companies make a credit report and that's why I asked for a correction in credit report as a settlement in anticipation of that.
When their associate first contacted me via phone she refused to tell me what the intended action would be if I chose not to pay.

An appropriate response would be to provide a statement of how they decided to rule against my dispute, not just an account of what the accused debt is.
If this business was acting with integrity, their process would be transparent.
Instead, their dispute process operates as a formality with no respect to the disputer.
Leaving the disputer, me, confused and powerless to change the outcome of the decision.

    Sincerely,

    Soren Centauri

    Good Afternoon,

Unfortunately the impasse with Mr. ******** continues.  As stated in the previous response we are happy to release any copies of documents etc. if he reaches out to AAI and requests them, but for now we are unable to do so since he has been using the BBB to mediate his position.  We would need a simple OK to either e-mail or mail the information for ***** to review.  Damages on rentals can be complex, and there is room to negotiate if Mr. ******** would like to discuss.  AAI is also open to payment plans if the balance is too high for a one time payment.  Just because the response isn't what Mr. ******** desires, does not mean it is non-material to his concerns.  We pride ourselves on our ability to work with folk, and hopefully Mr. ******** will take advantage of his ability to communicate directly with AAI.

    Thanks
