A 2/9/23 email from the merchant reads, "Welcome to one.com and thank you for choosing one.com for your domain xxxx". They charged me $5.99 for the first year registration then increased it to $36.99 for subsequent renewal. That's over a whopping 500% jump over the original price! Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Four months ago I notified One.com that I was not interested in renewing my registration and asked them to release it for transfer to another registrar. They have not complied with my request to this date. I filed a complaint against them with ICANN, but ICANN is way too slow to respond or take action. Each step of the way One.com comes up with more nonsense. For example, they sent me a "change contact details" form to fill out back in December, which I did, and now they want me to fill out the same form again! I said no. Prior to that, they wanted me to show proof that I am the domain owner. This made no sense since they had accepted my domain registration and gladly charged my credit card. But anyway, I sent them the proof that they asked for. Instead, they came up with more nonsense. Lately, I received an email asking for my consent to the name transfer! When I tried to submit the consent, it would not let me unless I signed their service agreement. The same agreement that would have allowed them to charge me their outrageous rates! By doing so, they are forcing me to keep my business with them. Why would I want to have One.com when I can get the same service for 500% less? Their long cycle of procrastination will run anyone's patience out. One of their emails said that I had a balance "past due". How can I owe them anything when I indicated several times that I'm no longer interested in having them as my registrar? I am the domain owner and there's no reason for them not to release it for transfer to a better company.

Worst company ever. Changes servers without communicating with customers taking their site down. Cost us thousands of dollars in advertising for a site that went down due to their lack of communication. Considering a small claims case. The site remains down and their staff is unhelpful.
