    September 2023: I entered into a written contract with JF Memmer Contracting to build a detached storage on my property. I explained that I needed the project completed by July 2024 and ***** agreed to having the garage/storage finished with no problem. His total amount for the project was $82,000 but he requested half ($40,000) to be paid up front and the remaining once the job is completed. I sent several emails/text messages to ***** because he did not start the job as promised and provided several excuses for the delay. ***** finally started the job (phase 1) in the Spring of 2024, which was the digging of the foundation. In the midst of digging my ground, he cut several hoses connected to my in ground sprinkler system and agreed to fix it once the job is completed. The Inspectors from *************** came out to inspect in June/July 2024 and gave approval to proceed to the next step.I contacted ***** and shared the message from the Inspector. To date, ***** has not been back to my house to work on completing the job and is not accepting nor returning any phone calls. I even sent him a certified letter and he has not responded. I have several emails and text messages that I have sent as well with no response. However, he has contacted another person about completing a job they hired him to finish.

    On August 25, 2023 we entered an agreement with J F Memmer Contracting. We paid the first installment of $30,000 when he signed the agreement. The agreement stated that for $76,000 he would build an 18 X 25' addition to our home. On December 6, 2023, we paid the 2nd installment of $30,000. To date, he has not completed this addition and has stopped communicating with us at all. Our last communication with him was July 29, 2024. I have sent him several texts since then but have had no reply. We have since then hired another contractor to complete this addition. It is costing us $53,280 to have the addition completed. We would like to be reimbursed for this cost. All through the year, he has been here very few times and it had got down to 1 time a week, if we were very lucky, to do one thing and then we wouldn't see him again for several weeks. I have heard that he has not been paying his subcontractors and, in fact, I have had one of them come to me to get paid or he threatened to put a 2nd lien on our home. I have contacted my lawyer who has talked to the sub-contractor and talked him out of putting a 2nd lien on our home. I have no way of knowing how many other sub-contractors may put a 2nd lien on our home because I do not know who they are. I have asked Mr. ********************** to give me a list of all of his sub-contractors but he has never answered me.
