    April 18,2025-
We brought in my daughter's car to Aamco in Sandy, because it was not going into gear easily. They diagnosed it with needing a transmission. Aamco was not able to rebuild the one in her car, so they got a transmission that was already rebuilt. We picked up the car, as soon as we left Aamco, my daughter called me, and said it still wasn't going into gear. I called and told the owner that we were still having problems with it not going into gear, and reminded him, this is why we brought it in. The owner said bring it back and they would look at it. We did, and he said it would cost an additional 800.00 to fix it, we had already spent 4,700.00. The owner told me there must have been a communication problem on their part.
This communication problem cost my daughter 4700.00 and now she has a transmission she didn't need.
My neighbor watched a Youtube video and figured out that it needed a small plastic part, Dasbecan Rk5842 shifter repair kit that cost 20.00, and he also fixed it for her, it took an hour.
There are so many things I am disappointed with- First the 4700.00 transmission the car didn't need. Second-wanting to charge an additional 800.00 to fix the original problem, because of their miscommunication problem. Third- makes me wonder how much money they got for the transmission they took out of her car.
