on 2/28 I took my dog in for being severly ill (not eating, throwing up) after having a surgery on 2/26. I was told she had an ulcer and sent home with an almost $600 vet bill. A couple hours later she was declining rapidly and rushed back. They opened her up to find there were complications from the surgery on 2/26. They told us to go to an ER vet in ****** to save her. We drove over an hour to this vet, who then told us our dog was basically dead and put her to sleep. That cost $700. The initial surgery on 2/26 was because vet *********** said that multiple scans showed she had 'something' in her stomach. They cut her open on 2/26 and nothing was there!! He misdiagnosed her and ended up killing her in the end. When we tried to dispute the bill, they gave us a 'discount' of $1031 but said I still owe $953 for the 2nd surgery, even after I returned all medications charged to me from the visits on 2/26 and 2/28. I tried to contact the office manager to discuss the bill. I tried multiple times after 2/28 and she did not return my calls. I am disputing the bill for $953 as I have already spent over $3000 for the original surgery and tests when my dog was misdiagnosed by a vet who has only been practicing medicine for 1 year. He never got a 2nd opinion or consulted with an experienced vet, and it cost me my dogs life. I now have to live with losing a pet, spending thousands at Risenger, $700 at an ER vet and they want MORE $$$ for their malpractice surgery.
