We contracted with Absolutely Bushed Landscaping in March/April 2022 for $13,206 to create a new rock-lined bed for 12 7-gal Chinese Fringe Flower and 12 7-gal Sunshine Ligustrum shrubs, plus a magnolia, etc. They delayed installation until late June 2022 due to other jobs. At that time, the temps were ~ 100 degrees - they had to put a canopy over the workers as it was oppressively hot. Both types of shrubs are rated as extremely hardy, but all warnings are the Chinese fringes should not be planted when hot. Despite all watering efforts (ABL installed the irrigation in the bed), including manually watering virtually daily, the Chinese fringes were stressed by September. The Chinese fringes never came out in spring 2023. ********************* and his wife agreed to come look at the shrubs - he stated he was an expert and the shrubs would come out, and they would replace them if they did not leaf / come out. Chinese fringes are an evergreen - they are never supposed to lose their leaves. I emailed and called multiple times and sent them photos of the 12 dead shrubs several times - they would not come back - they said they were too busy until fall 2023. I had two other landscape companies and our weekly yard service company confirm the 12 shrubs were dead - ********************* said they were wrong, and he lied to ABL's quality control person, telling him that he told me the shrubs must be covered during winter cold spells, which was an absolute lie. ************** lied on multiple occasions and would not respond to any communications. called for the owner of ABL - he did not return my calls / messages. Ultimately I had another company replace the 12 dead shrubs that ABL promised to replace if they did not come out. I want reimbursement from ABL.
