I am filing this complaint due to ongoing issues with Brinks Home Security and a complete lack of resolution after multiple attempts to get help.Since April, my home security camerasinstalled by Brinkshave not been functioning at all. Despite this, Brinks has continued to charge me the full monthly service fee for a system that doesnt work. I have spent over 6 hours on the phone with their customer service and technical support teams, yet the issue remains unresolved.Brinks refuses to send a technician unless I pay out of pocket, even though I was clearly told during the sales process that technician visits were covered. They also want me to pay to replace the faulty equipment they installed, which is *************** make matters worse, there is no one above a basic call center representative that I can speak tono supervisor, no escalation process, no accountability. I was misled during the sales process, and now Im being charged for services I am not receiving.I am requesting the following:Immediate cancellation of my service without penalty or early termination fees A full refund of all monthly service charges since April ** investigation into their deceptive sales practices and customer service policies This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I hope the BBB can assist in holding Brinks accountable for their lack of service and transparency.

My alarm system was originally purchased from Protect America. Protect America was an excellent company and I was very sad when they were bought out by Brinks. At that time the notification that went to PA customers was that there would be not change in service and billing. Based on that I decided to continue with Brinks rather than shop for another provider. That was a big mistake as the only thing that remind the same was the monthly fees for the first year. Brinks service was gawd awful. When I called about a malfunctioning senser in the first few months after the change over, I was connected to a person who struggled communicating in English, Not the person's fault mind you, as she was polite and really tried to be helpful. I gave her the sensor model number and she had me take the sensor apart to test the battery and reassemble it twice, but that did not fix the problem. I asked for a ***lacement to be mailed to me, as this is what Protect America has in the past the agent informed me that I would have to pay for the sensor and shipping. I informed her that PA never charged to ***lace a malfunctioning component. She then send me a picture of the senser model to double check if it was the one I have. Turned out it was not the same sensor and I had wasted almost 2 hours trying to ***air a sensor based on instructions that did not apply. I asked to be connected to a customer service *** who said they would send out a technician for free to fix the sensor. That sounded acceptable and so I signed up for it. The ***air tech came and ***laced the sensor and told informed me that the control console was an old model and needed to be ***laced. He called Brinks to let them know. The new console was never send and when I called Brinks, I was told that the existing console was perfectly good and did not need ***lacing; however, the battery was weak and I needed to ***lace it. I installed a new battery and the console stopped working. ******** company!

Their sales people are liars. They will tell you that they are with your current provider and scam you into a contract. Our story is the same as MANY others who were not proactive in protecting themselves and found out too late. Call your current provider to verify any situations being described. You can also ask for their employee ID # to verify their employment using the contact options listed on the corporate web page (NOT DETAILS THEY PROVIDE). Dont make the same mistakes we did. Do a quick search, youll see this story thousands of times over. We wont get money back or any other resolution from the company, so I hope I can help at least one person avoid this.

In January 2023, I was scammed by Brinks Home Security (Skyline), and it's been a nightmare ever since. I was a satisfied ADT customer when I received a call that appeared to come from ADT (my caller ID even said "ADT"). The caller claimed I needed to upgrade to a new 5G system. A man came to my home with an official-looking ADT badge and claimed ADT was going out of business and being taken over by Brinks.Under false pretenses and lies, he convinced me to sign a new contract - supposedly just for an upgraded panel - on an iPad I couldn't fully review. Soon after, I realized I was being billed by both ADT and Brinks. When I contacted ADT, they confirmed none of what I had been told was true, and they had no idea who the person was. This individual cut the wires to my functioning ADT system, took my ADT cameras, and left me with just one camera he had on him. He promised a second camera would be sent -- it never arrived. I later discovered he'd hidden my old panel behind wrapping paper in my closet.Since May 2025, my Brinks system hasn't worked. They've refused to send a technician until September -- yet they continue charging me full price for a non-functioning service. Despite paying my balance in full and knowing my contract has ended, they still refuse to let me cancel.Even worse, Brinks obtained my personal information illegally through *******, as revealed in multiple news reports and lawsuits. I'm on the national Do Not Call Registry, which proves they had no legal way of contacting me.Brinks' customer service is beyond frustrating -- mostly automated lines that hang up, impossible to get help, and when you do, they pass the blame onto Skyline (which is part of their operation). Their CEO even issued an apology about these scams, but nothing has been done to make things right. All they care about is charging you.I haven't felt safe in my home since 2023. Why trust a security company that operates through fraud, lies, and identity theft??

My wife and I picked this company for home security and didn't even know that there is a 3rd party we selected and not brinks themselves. Horrible service and one camera keeps going offline. Just going to have to deal with this issue I won't contact again the sales *****

Brinks Home is using subsidiary security sales and installation Companies (i.e. Skyline Security *************** in *********) to prey on Elder residents in the ******** ******* 88 year old mother-in-law with dimentia and living on a fixed income ($1400/mo) was coerced into signing a 5 year contract with Brinks Home that will total to $3,000. She does not know/remember thar she has a security system, or how it works or how to operate it (doesn't use it). When Brinks was called to cancel the service that she doesn't use/understand, they stated the termination fee would be $1384.53 (remainder of 5 year contract). This is ridiculous, and is considered a form of financial Elder abuse. Brinks and Skyline Security ************** have been reported to Adult Protective Services (APS) and the Contractor State Licensing Board (CSLB).The state and local governments should do something about companies like Brinks and Skyline Security Management using predatory practice against the vulnerable elderly in our community.Until then, children/grandchildren should talk with their elderly parents/grandparents about signing contacts or financial decisions that they may not understand all the ramifications of.Just note thar the contract my mother in law signed was 29 pages long which was shown to her on an iPad that I am positive she didn't understand.

ended up with Brinks under false pretenses. People arrived at door, saying they could help lower my telephone/cable bill. I KNOW I KNOW BETTER! but I listened to them, and their plan would give all the discounts I wanted and lower my bill. Plus, I would get a new security system from Brinks. They, were in no way, connected to my cable company, but a third party broker. I committed, and knew I would touch bases with cable company. They knew nothing about this, did not get any discounts going through to my acct, but changes were made, not by me, that would have increased my bill. This broker never provided me with said contract, Can cx Brinks to the small amount of over $3000. Everything was done their way which left me with no idea of what I was really committing to. This is my first "shouldn't have done it" and I am MADDD! Brinks is a terrible company, and reviews should prove that.

Complaints about the Brinks Home Security System for overcharging, not providing a prompt response, taking excessive time to solve the issue, and showing a lack of courtesy in contacting the customer.1. I complained about the issue of alarming the security system unnecessarily.2. I received the troubleshooting appointment approximately 3 months after the appointment.3. The technician showed up as scheduled on May 20th but couldn't resolve the problem completely.4. I had to make another effort to make the second complaint and was promised that someone would get back to me within 2 to 3 business days, but it never happened.5. Again, after several attempts, the problem was solved remotely. Subsequently, I received an invoice for $ ****** as a trip charge. 6. I have paid $120 for nothing just for showing up, and the problem was solved remotely later after several phone call attempts, where I don't have to pay for remote repairs.7. The Brinks just sent a technician claiming that I requested and was not given the remote repair option at first, which is free. Conclusion:Very poor service. Neglecting the customer and unnecessary charges

In April 2025, I ordered new smoke detectors from Brinks and started paying a monthly Home Warranty plan that would include free equipment and lower price for technicians. The detectors were different models than what we have and so we needed a technician to install them. For 2 months, I was told a technician would schedule an appointment but they never did. I was calling Brinks 2 times a week to explain the situation but kept being told they would schedule an appointment. Finally in June, I returned the equipment and requested to cancel the home warranty plan. I wanted to break the monitoring contract since they are unable to find in-person technicians but was told I would have to pay for the entire amount of the contract. Now I am stuck with expired smoke detectors and old equipment that they are unable to service for the next 2.5 years.
