    I have a **** Jeep CJ-7 that I am restoring and the vehicle needed a new paint job. I contacted *****' Autobody in March 2021 for an estimate and spoke with ************************. The estimate was emailed to me on 12 Mar 2021 for $6585.00 and she verbally estimated the job completion to be 3 weeks from time of drop off. I told *********** that I wouldn't be able to drop my vehicle off until May due to mechanical repairs I had planned to accomplish in April. I paid by check on 31 Mar 21 for over half the estimate to reserve my spot after the mechanical work was completed. My jeep was dropped off at their business on 10 May 2021. At the time of drop off *********** told me that they will still try to finish the job in 3 weeks but *** go over by a little bit. That sounded reasonable at the time. From then on every time I made contact either by phone or stopping by the shop in person to check on the progress, excuses are given on why they haven't completed the job in a timely manner. Getting sick with Covid, enduring death in the family, and encountering unforeseen restoration issues are all valid and I can understand delays due to these circumstances and gladly accept it. But most of the time when I checked in on the progress I'm told they haven't touched my vehicle in weeks or months because they prioritized insurance jobs that come in after my vehicle has been there. Then I am told by *********** that they will finish the job in a few weeks. A few weeks turned into it will be done by August. No, October. By Thanksgiving. Before Christmas. *********** never explicitly told me that whatever time critical insurance business that *** come in would take precedent over completing my project in a timely manner. My vehicle will have been in their possession for 365 days on 10 May this year.I engaged an attorney on 10 Jan 2022. After official letters being sent back and forth an expected completion date is set for no later than 31 May 2022.
