    We paid $962.00 for parts/labor for my 2012 ***** 6. I was promised a full diagnosis before any work was approved; however, it was not until after the "repairs" were made that I was informed of a much more serious issue which this business "could not diagnose". The car is no longer running and parts I paid for were a complete waste of money. I would never have,agreed to these repairs had a full diagnosis been done (as promised).

    *** ****** came to our repair shop stating his vehicle was leaking coolant, overheating, smoking, engine light on, and an oil leak.   We replaced the water outlet (fixed coolant leak/overheating/smoking). Vehicle arrived with coolant nearly empty and 2 quarts low on oil.  We replaced the valve cover gasket which fixed the oil leak. Customer declined replacing the thermostat which would correct the engine light and possible overheating issue.  Upon completion of repairs requested, the mechanic noticed the engine was making internal noise and coolant was boiling over inside the engine.  The **** were sporadic and the vehicle had very little engine power.  After talking to the customer right after work was completed, the customer stated he had had the vehicle towed to his house after overheating and then drove to our place of business.  We explained that the engine was showing internal damage and we do not diagnose nor repair at our place of business.  We recommended a shop he could tow the vehicle to for this type of further diagnosis and repair.  We could not know there was an internal leak until the external leak was repaired.  I explained that I highly recommend he NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE to the shop we recommended, as it could potentially damage the engine further.  *** ****** did not head our warning and drove the vehicle anyway.  All problems presented by *** ****** were corrected by our shop, except for replacing thermostat, which customer declined and was likely main reason why vehicle was running hot.  Driving a vehicle while overheated for long periods causes internal engine damage.  We could not know about the internal damage until the external repairs were made and the car was driven for a test drive.
