I paid for front end service brakes, rotors and calipers..after 10mos I lost a bolt off the drivers side rotor and 2 more bolts were lose. I took it to ********* who discovered the rotors were on wrong. I called Braketime to rectify the problem..a mechanic was sent out and Im the process of fixing the problem he stripped the passenger side brake line bolt causing the fluid to leak..******************* tried to blame it on the manufacturer when i had driven the car for 10mos with no issues from.brake line.. the *************** was stripped by the mechanic and I feel Braketime should rectify the problem..the paperwork clearly states the issue when I was saying it was the caliper But the mechanic and one owner shld have looked at the paperwork before sending him out and to know what was supposed to be fixedBusiness Response

The customer had my mechanic replace her calipers and rotors and brakes 10 months prior. Initially she had a defective caliper she had to send back and get replaced bc of the same issue when we performed the work. She contacts me to tell me my mechanic left a bolt loose and calipers were on the wrong side 10 months after the work was performed. I told her we will correct the issue if we are at fault. My mechanic goes back out and shows her the calipers are on right and in the process where the bleeding s**** goes the hole was having the same problem as the caliper did 10 months prior. The caliper is made of aluminum and aftermarket. I offered to replace the part for free if she would pay for the part. We are not responsible for a bad part. She refused and said she would not pay for the part so I could not move forward with her. She also became very irate in conversation.
my question is if a shop found the rotors on wrong why would they fix the bolt and not the rotors issue and put her back on the road. But also within 10 months anything could if happenCustomer Answer

As a business man he shld have looked at the paperwork I provided..it clearly states the findings from *********..his mechanic shld have known what needed yo be repaired..I did how ever state caliper but I'm no mechanic. I reached out to him yesterday to ask him to look at the paperwork and he did not return or answer my calls. His mechanic did switch out the rotors which indeed where on backwards. And yes initially I did receive a defective part when I ordered them 10mo ago. The calipers was not defective when the mechanic put it on.i drove 10mo on it.Any reputable business guarantees their work. His mechanic used a high power tool when taking off an putting on my bolts I watched him.Anyone knows to much force will strip anything. he did not thread the bolt first! He used a power tool from beginning to the end! And when he stripped it, he blamed the manufacturer. I've NEVER heard of anyone losing bolts or them coming loose. ITS BECAUSE there weren't properly installed..******************* says he's a certified mechanic but is **** the mechanic who did my work? What does it take to strip a hole or bolt if wasn't in the beginning..again please refer to the paperwork..it states the rotors where installed wrong! As a certified mechanic he didn't not read what another certified business found wrong with my car

1st image is of back rotor..I went out to look at back rotors to see if there were on correctly..as u can see the ****** are going in the opposite of the tires..this is what I tried to explain to the certified mechanic *******************..the second photo is the front rotor which his mechanic switched out and put on correctly after coming out on 3/16 .it's clear neither of my 4 rotors where put on properly. I will be providing more documentation when I take my vehicle to the shop this morning. AGAIN the ****** on the rotors should be going in the same direction as the tire not against itCustomer Answer

I read the response. I refuse to communicate with her bc I offered a solution that I feel was fair but she declined and told me to tell my mechanic to leave everything as is and she will get her brother in law to finish the job. At that point I have no further business with her. She states he used a power tool but the issue is with a bleeding s**** which literally is a 6-8mm screw, impossible to use an impact. And my mechanic has enough mechanical knowledge to know not to and to tighten by hand which he did, I verified with him. He did not damage that s**** Again I tried to resolve the issue by putting a new caliper on for free and just have her pay a gas fee for my mechanic coming out which was $40. She would have to pay for the part. She refused. I responded respectfully ok.Business Response

Also keep in mind she drove on the work for 10 months. I worked at dealerships as senior service advisors and a service manager at ******************. They only guarantee their work for 6-12 months, depending on the job. But if they are not at fault they dont pay for a customers issue. We did not cause it so I dont feel obligated to pay for it but Im building a trustworthy business so I tried to resolve it fairly. Thats all I can do. Im not a big dealership Im a small business right now committed to customer satisfactionCustomer Answer

My car is currently being repaired which is almost $400..******************* has not acknowledged that his mechanic did indeed put on the rotors wrong! And I have two different shops acknowledging so. Never ever shld any bolt come off or come lose had they been put on tight from the start. ******************* did offer to not charge for the labor but did want me pay for the parts cashapp or card. I refused to give him my card info..again I have sent pics showing the rotors on wrong and still he has not acknowledged wrong doing. He said my parts.were universal when indeed they are no. I want to be compensate and reimbursed foe his botch mechanics work..and yes I watched him use a power drill when putting on the screw..and no stripped s**** becomes stripped when it's an error on the mechanics part..******************* was not there nor did he come.out to inspect his mechanic's work! I was there and I help and assisted his mechanic..so yes I saw him put the s**** on . I'm sending a pic of the rotors as well to show the type and that they were not universal. Also the ****** on the rotors..again ******************* did not read the paperworkCustomer Answer

I have read the new statement and i acknowledged the rotors were on wrong. She didnt know how to communicate they were directional rotors. Even when put on wrong they are still safe. They just dont dissipate heat as fast. They are performance rotors. But again I was initially told it was the calipers on wrong until my mechanic got out there to verify it was the rotors. I do acknowledge the issue with the bolt as well. I feel I did everything I could to resolve the issue in a fair manner. When she told me to pack up and leave everything there and declined the solution I proposed, I did. At this point I will not give a refund. Ive done all I can do and still be fair about the situation. When dealing with aftermarket parts most automotive shops will not give a warranty. Dealerships only warranty work with their parts. Theyll do the work but wont warranty the job.Customer Answer
