If I could give University Park zero stars, I would. If you are a young college student like myself at time of signing STEER CLEAR. In my time at UPark, our amenities (that they brag about on their website) were never open and always closed. We had a courtesy officer who never responded to calls and it took the office several years to listen to security complaints and take residents seriously. In the time we lived there, there were several instances of car break-ins and strange men who would walk around and make women there uncomfortable. As a woman, walking around my apartment at night was terrifying. Unfortunately, I could not even park near my apartment as most parking spaces were full by 6 PM. We had a fire on our property and management was not transparent with residents. Most would not have known if it weren't for communication between residents. My apartment went without hot water for 10 days without maintenance coming. There were also several instances of our apartment going without water for multiple days, with only an "oops! we are sorry!" from management. It may be furnished, but beware of poor quality of furniture. I moved out in August, and my roommates and I were charged for the couch that peeled after we would normally sit on it. Despite our talks with maintenance and it being noted the poor quality of furniture, management would not acknowledge this. The property manager and other staff made communication difficult, not responding for several days and making excuses to guilt us after responding. They then proceed to accuse of of having an unregistered pet (?) in the apartment that caused the damage. They threatened us with collections and came off as malicious instead of working with us. The allure to UPark is the cheaper rent of the area. However, as they raise their rent, I encourage anyone to live somewhere else until serious changes are made. This barely scratches the surface of problems with UPark.
