In April/May 2025, I brought my mother’s ** Envy laptop (which I purchased and am authorized to use) to Complete Computers in Madison, TN, for diagnostic service after it stopped powering on. While I waited for a quote, a technician began repairs without my consent and got the device to power on. I paid for the service and even left a tip—unaware of internal and external damage that had been caused and not disclosed. Complete Computers inflicted physical damage: scratched metal casing, chipped paint, broken internal snaps in the back cover, missing/stripped screws, mishandled hinges that were glued shut—externally and internally—without my approval, and left internal components exposed.
This damage was not disclosed at the time of service. I had to point it out before they offered to order a housing kit. A second evaluation later confirmed internal damage as well. From May 8 to July 8, 2025, Complete Computers failed to provide any order or shipping information for the housing kit, despite my repeated follow-ups. They declined to file an insurance claim, and I had to initiate all communication. Less than 24 hours after saying no order information existed, they claimed a part had arrived but failed to disclose it was dented. I only found out 12 days later when I called to schedule installation—at which point they said they were now waiting on a second part. I was never notified of this. When I visited on July 9, 2025, I learned the part was incorrect and did not match the original ** back cover. I was shown only the back cover, not the full kit. The laptop, though 4.5 years old, had no damage prior to their handling. Their trade-in offer was inadequate. ** confirmed the model is now obsolete, and OEM parts are no longer available. Multiple other techs recommended full replacement. I’ve made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this. I’m now filing this complaint with the BBB and Tennessee Consumer Affairs and preparing to pursue small claims court action.
