My wife and I sold her mother's house on February 29, 2024. The realtor and buyer chose Cumberland Title to handle the closing. We elected to have the money to be sent via a wire transfer to our bank. The following day we still had not received the transfer we called the title company and the only thing I can say their employee named **** **** just plain old refused to do the transfer. We had our bank call and still the same results, refusals. My wife and I drove to the title company and they reluctantly printed her a check. What we want is Cumberland Title to return the 50.00 they charged us for the wire transfer, and I would like for them to help me understand why they refused to do the wire transfer.
    Sincerely, ****** and **** ******

In regards to the complaint filed, Mrs. ******, her mother and sister sold the property. It closed late in the afternoon on the 29th. It was too late to request the wire transfer the day of closing. When I came in the morning of the 1st I was in back to back closings beginning at 8:30. They called and caught me between closings and I explained that I had been in closings but would request the transfer as soon as possible. Mrs. ****** then drove to the office. I apologized and explained again that I had been in closings all morning and had not been at my desk. She asked if they could get a check instead of the wire transfer, which I was happy to do for her. At no time did I refuse to make the wire transfer.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.

I spoke with the owner of our company. He said I could send $50.00 back to the sellers of the property.

    Thank you,
