After booking, Bellhops wasn't able to find a crew, so they needed to move my immovable move date to 2 days later. I was left scrambling with less than 48 hours until I needed to move. Nothing quite like the panic and stress of needing to find a company that could provide 6 men and 2 trucks that fast. Luckily, I found a much more reputable company that isn't trying to make a huge profit just for coordinating movers on your behalf. I got a great mover for 40% cheaper!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This company is a broker for other moving companies, they do not perform their own moves. Because of their incompetence, my move ended up costing me literally THOUSANDS more than I had planned for. This seriously impacted my credit because of needing to use my credit cards in ways I had not expected. First problem was with the packing company. They wasted my packing materials and ended up only packing approximately 65-70% of my home goods. I had over 100 boxes and multiple rolls of packing paper and bubble wrap. I specifically told them to use the paper for filler, but they didn't. Two of the three packers wasted my bubble wrap as filler and the packers packed boxes inside of other boxes! COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE! Additionally, the packing company called me a couple hours after leaving my former home and tried talking me into canceling the actual moving company and just use them directly at a lower rate. I did not and explained how unethical it was for them to contact me. Second problem was with the movers. Bellhop had the nerve to call me the night before the movers were to arrive and tell me they needed to add another mover and charge me at least an additional $500; I told them hell no! I addressed this with the three movers that showed up the morning of the move and they were shocked. They said no-one asked them if additional help was needed and they could do the move on their own. The problem is they could only move boxes and furniture (which I had little of because I'd donated most of my furniture already). As a result, they could not move everything. The movers themselves did a good job with what they had, but the company they work for are liars & cheats! Third problem is I now had to waste money with two more sets of packers and movers to get everything finished, which cost me thousands that I wasn't planning to spend. The non-Bellhop movers recommended a small local company that worked hard to get the move finished.

Bellhop’s damage protection policy, which calculates reimbursement based on the weight of damaged items rather than their actual value, is not only unfair but also deeply frustrating for customers. I experienced this firsthand when my belongings were damaged, and the resolution was a mere $12—an insulting amount given the actual worth of the items. This policy fails to account for the real impact on customers, leaving them feeling undervalued and unheard. After digging further, I found that this complaint is common among others who have used the service. On top of the inadequate damage compensation, the movers in my case were late, and two of them didn’t even bother to show up until almost 30 minutes into the move. Despite this, I was charged the full amount. It’s clear that punctuality and professionalism are not priorities for Bellhop. Unfortunately, my experience isn’t unique; similar issues with tardiness, incomplete teams, and careless handling of belongings are echoed in reviews on platforms like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and ConsumerAffairs. Bellhop advertises itself as a modern and efficient moving service, but my experience, along with the complaints I’ve read from others, suggests otherwise. From operational failures to an arbitrary and insulting damage policy, the company seems to have systemic issues that undermine its reliability and trustworthiness. I cannot recommend this service to anyone and would actively discourage others from using it.

Do not use Bellhop. They don’t actually have any trucks or movers, they use contractors. When our truck never showed up, their communication with us about a replacement truck was very poor. When we got a truck 6 hours later than planned they refused to delay our unloading to honor a 24 hold we had paid for. This meant we had to drive at 4AM the next day to meet the truck in our new home the next state over. They promised to “compensate” us for this within 48 hours and instead it’s been 6 weeks of them ignoring us after charging us the full amount. Horrible service!

Our lead mover didn't show up, and by the time they found us a replacement, it was 2 hours past the service window. Because we had a POD sitting on the street in NYC, we only had a short timeframe to get it unloaded. We had to frantically hire another company while I was on hold with Bellhop trying to get them to resolve the issue. I requested a refund as we didn't get the service we paid for, and all they could offer me was a 10% discount. We're disputing it with our credit card company. I would stay away from this company if you're in a pinch and need a team to actually show up.

Hi, I'm Andrea, a single woman who booked Bellhop for a small move including a bedroom, kitchen table/bench, patio furniture, a few bookshelves and boxes. My Bellhop movers joked as they packed the truck that the 26-foot truck was overkill. My belongings were going into a storage unit which was about half full so I told them I would need some help stacking items in the storage unit to ensure all my belongings would fit. When we arrived at the storage unit the team lead, Dwayne M*****, changed his attitude immediately. He looked at me with anger, disgust and said, "What are you doing? This isn't going to work! We have a 26-foot truck out there, we can't fit all this in! What are we doing here?" I reminded Mr. M***** that I had asked them to help me stack items properly so we could fit everything in. Mr. M***** continued to speak to me with irritation and indignation, saying "This is not going to work. I don't know what you're thinking. You're going to have to figure something else out. We can try to consolidate, but it won't be enough." He then demanded I text him the access code to the storage unit, which I was uncomfortable with, but his anger frightened me. I asked for his cell phone number. He said, "What is wrong with you? I sent you a confirmation text this morning." I had forgotten, but I found it in my texts. Mr. M***** had stacked a few boxes but did a terrible job, so I alone properly consolidated everything. Mr. M***** continued to bring items in but they were not stacking properly so I had to direct him where to put items. As it became clear that everything would indeed fit in my storage unit, Mr. M***** approached me and said that he had been wrong. I appreciated the sentiment, but it didn't do me much good as I had already done the work myself. I cannot in good faith book Bellhop again as I cannot be sure that I will receive the help I paid for and more importantly, that I will be safe. I especially caution single women against booking this company.

If a negative stars review was possible - that is what I would rank this service. Quite honestly the worst experience I've had moving, and I've moved 8 times over the past 10 years. Initial move was cancelled 30 minutes into my move time when only the truck driver and one mover showed up. Rescheduled for the next day, and not only did the team not wrap things properly (or at all), they caused damage to almost every piece of furniture as well as significant dry wall damage to the property we moved out of. It costs us THOUSANDS of dollars to repair the paint, ceiling, door frame, and wall damage done by the Bellhop team. They packed the truck so inefficiently they couldn't fit everything. So what did they leave behind? BOTH mattresses. We had to sleep on our couch for multiple nights. Two days later Bellhop sent another team to complete the move and then charged us again, despite the fact that it was their company/teams mistake in the first place. The customer service was a joke. Ultimately only able to recoup not even 1/10 of the damage incurred to both the old and new properties and furniture. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They aren't a moving company at all. They outsource everything and there is no quality control on their team members. If you are thinking about hiring them for a move pick literally any other option.

Marlo, Josh, and Christian were amazing movers!!! This was a last minute move due to a fire. My Dad and I are disabled and desperately needed movers who were punctual and professional. They were on time, handled our items with care, and went above and beyond. I recommend them for anyone's move in the Charlotte area.

Truck did not show up for unloading which was scheduled for 9am. Bellhop support kept telling me different times until Bellhop finally delayed it by a whole day because the movers had to leave after waiting around all day. Absolute nightmare process, will never use Bellhop again.

I had a terrible experience. The driver of the truck clocked in an hour before the starting time. Then 2 boxes were stolen.
