I took my 2019 Ford Fusion to this shop on October 31st for a water pump replacement. I requested the timing belt be replaced while doing this repair as it needed to be removed to complete the water pump. Estimated complete date November 6th 2023, I texted the shop to 11/6/23 & was informed the shop did not have a tool to lock the crank/cam shafts in place. I informed the shop if the water pump had been replaced w/o the tool the the timing would be off. I did not receive a response at this point. I got the car from the shop on Friday 11/10/23 & paid $902.49 for the repairs. I did not drive my car until the Monday when I notice it was not running how it normally does so I returned the car to the shop and let them know it wasn't running properly, It was running rough & while sitting still the RPMs dropping below normal range. The shop told me the repairs were fine & I had bad gas, they told me to come back if the problem got worse. The car continued to have issues & on 11/21/2023 while driving to work my car had a major malfunction which resulted in engine failure. The car was towed back to the shop where the owner said he was going "cover my butt" and check the repairs. On 11/22/2023 my fiancé told the owner not to do anything to the car that cost money and he agreed. He then said the car was running lean and he thought the issue was a fuel injector. My car was under warranty so with that claim they sent a investigator out, his report says my car was not running lean and had no lean codes also the injectors were good. The owner has yet to give me an explanation for the failure. I tried to remove my vehicle from the shop on 1/20/2024 to go to another mechanic but he is now saying I owe him more money before he will release the vehicle to me. I was not presented with an invoice or told of any costs related to checking his initial repairs. The only time money has been discussed since the vehicle returned to the shop was an estimate for a motor replacement.
