After an experience at this place of business I never want another dog to go through what mine went through. My dog has been here previously for his vaccinations since he was a puppy. However, he has not gone back because he has reached his yearly vaccinations. A little background, my dog is a shelter dog and is fearful of strangers; the most he does is growl. Before anyone came into the room I put my dog on the table so he knew it was okay; he had no problem even allowed the vet tech to get a fecal sample with no problem. Yet, when the vet himself came in he growled when the vet walked up and towered over him. He immediately grabbed a muzzle without any forewarning to me. He asked if I would put it on him and I agreed as I do understand that this is for the safety of the staff. I put the muzzle on him with no problem. The vet then proceeded to try to grab him immediately to put him on the table. My dog proceeded to squeal and shake his body to get away. Instead of allowing me to put my dog on the table or give him a second to calm down he then proceeded to get the choke collar that I had on my dog for training purposes and twist it as tight as possible and pull up where my dogs front paws could not touch the floor. My dog was being choked and beyond scared, so much that he peed and pooped himself. Taking the leash off he continued to choke my dog and lift his front half up and get the vet tech to get the back half while PINNING him on the table. After all this, not once does he examine my dog, instead keeps him pinned on the table lecturing me about the shampoo I could be using. The vet then comes back in the room after allowing me to get my dog down and take the muzzle off to lecture me on obedience training and socializing. My dog goes to doggy daycare, stores, dog parks, trips, and I live in an apartment. My dog is socialized. I hope no one else experiences the same actions from this vet. Forewarning, if you have a skittish dog do not go to this place.
