    - 04/30/2024 I contacted Bill L****** to schedule a consultation to have flooring installed
    - 05/16/2024 we finally agreed on him coming over 05/18 to discuss pricing and timeline
    - 05/18/2024 Bill came over, had me sign a contract, and I gave him $5,000 in advance for the flooring materials
    - 05/29/2024 @ 10:41am I messaged Bill letting him know I had pulled up the carpet in my 2 side bedrooms, so he can come to drop off the materials I prepaid for so it could “expand” like he recommended
    - on the same day at 10:44am, he told me, he would be drop it off the 1st of the following week (which would be 06/02/2024
-06/02/2024 at 8:43pm, I texted Bill asking what day and time he would be planning to come over
    - 06/03/2024 at 1:19pm, he finally responded saying it would depend on the rain
    - 06/05/2024 at 8:21am, I texted him once again, I needed a definite date so I could plan ahead
    - 06/05/2024 at 2:37pm, bill said he would be at my house 06/17/2024
    - 06/05/2024 at 4:02pm I asked for clarification if he meant just dropping materials off or actually installing, he told me installing.
    - 06/07/2024 I asked Bill on clarification on pricing. Previously on 05/18, Bill quoted me for materials $4/sqft, when I found the actual price was $3.50/sqft
Bill disregarded me and said, the price was right.
    - 06/08/2024 after catching Bill in a lie over the price and the fact I realized I needed the flooring completed by 06/13/2024 & how I couldn’t wait until 06/17/2024, I messaged Bill at 12:57pm telling him I’d be requesting either a refund of the $5,000 I prepaid for the materials or the actual materials to be dropped off.
    - then Bill tried to call me at 06/08/2024 at 12:59pm
    - 06/08/2024 at 1:04pm he texted me saying he checked on the price and how he will refund me $750, due to the price drop from $4 to $3.50 ( when one day before, he told me the price was correct).
    - I told him I needed the project done by 06/13/2024 at noon, he agreed, showed up Mon, 6/10 and began the project

    Business Response

    Date: 07/24/2024

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. On may 18th of 2024 I did a contract with miss ***** to ensure that we were doing  business, at that time she assured me she was in no rush and there is no time stipulation on the contract, on June 8th she sent me a text stating  that her father's coworker said she needed to go a different direction and that she apologies, it was also stated that she wanted me to return her money or bring her the materials for the job. The complete text reads "hey I'm sorry for the inconvenience but my dad's coworker said I will need to go in a different direction for the project since we are expecting family earlier than we thought… can you drop off the materials that you have purchased with the receipt or just return the money, thank you" so after this message I moved my schedule around and started the job for her the following Monday when me and my crew arrived I told her and her husband that Monday morning that her deadline was impossible but I would do my best to get it done as soon as possible, she allowed us to work for three days which in that time we installed 1200 out of 1300 square feet (about half the area of a tennis court) of her flooring. On Thursday when we arrived at the job, she insisted we be done by 11 am. We told her that we would try our best, but it may not happen. She became irate and told us to gather our things and leave. Miss ***** persistently called and messaged me saying I needed to bring the remaining materials to her, which I refused because she had breached our contract, and the balance of $2,000 that was owed to me for labor.  After she had asked me and my crew to leave, she messaged me saying" I needed her money or her supplies, this is so unprofessional" I feel that miss ***** is completely disregarding all the labor services that was provided in the three days that she ALLOWED us to work. When miss ***** and I signed the contract the total was 8,650, the flooring was at 4 dollars a square foot which is the price she gave me for the flooring she picked out, later she realized the flooring was on sale for 3.50 cents instead of 4 dollars a square foot so I agreed to honor the 3.50 cents a square foot dropping the price by 750 dollars. Which brought the total price down to 7,900. We figured that by her making us leave without allowing us to complete the job, the materials and labor for the rest of the job that was not completed would be $900, that would leave her with the remaining 2,000 of labor that I was not compensated for. That is why I refused to bring her the rest of the materials to complete the job, because she already owed me money. I feel that I have been wronged and this is a defamation of character of me and my business that she has turned me into the better business burro when she did not even allow me to complete the job, or when I have not been paid for any of the services that were given.
