Our family has been going to this resort for over a decade and we will never be back after our horrible experience with the property and the awful Atlantic resort group. Our first day of arriving, the A/C was not working, we were understanding even though it wasn't fixed (despite being told it was) and we spent the first night sweating. It wasn't until wasting time the second day dealing with the issue that it was fixed properly. The unit itself was not cleaned well at all but again, we tried to stay understanding that many places have staffing issues right now so we tried to look past the subpar cleaning job. But on our second night it went downhill and fast. We started finding ROACHES everywhere. We complained immediately the next morning when the office opened and we were told someone would come out to spray. I'm not sure where the spraying was done because we spent the entire week killing roaches every single day. We asked the renters around us if they had this issue and they all told us that they hadn't seen any roaches in their units. Our unit was infested with them. By Friday we were completely fed up and my husband went back to the office where he was met with the worst customer service he has EVER received. Keep in mind he travels for work and stays in a different hotel/resort every single week of the year...he knows what appropriate customer service looks like for this industry. He was told by the person in charge "if you don't want bugs, don't stay next to a 500 acre wildlife preserve", and "do what you've got to do but you won't find anywhere else with better customer service", and "everywhere down here deals with roaches". There was zero compassion that we had spent almost a week dealing with roaches. The properties are so run down that they have become unable to keep the bugs outside of the units with proper pest control. In all the years staying at this resort, we never saw a roach in any of the units we stayed in. This place dropped the ball on maintaining the properties and then blames the customer by telling them to deal with it because they chose to stay there. They have lost our family as a customer along with everyone else we have recommended it to over the years. We are all thoroughly disgusted with the roaches, but honestly more with the Atlantic resort groups attitude and "customer service". We will be putting a complaint on every platform we can find to help another family avoid the hassle we that we went through. We left early and drove through the night to get out of there. It is disgusting and they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Now we have to unpack everything outside and clean it all to make sure that we didn't bring their disgusting roach infestation into our clean home. Thanks for the extra hassle Atlantic Resort Group!
