    On August 21, 2023 we went to purchase a vehicle that was listed on the dealership website for 28,490.00. The original contract had a mark up on the price of the car of 2,501.00. I asked what that was I was told not to worry about it that we would go over all of the figures when we finalized the deal. The finance guy had my son and I electronically sign a pad and he started clicking our signatures on form on the pad. He said he would go over the prices of any add-ons and what they were for. That did not happen originally he had charged me 907.00 for wheel and tire warranty, 3289.00 extended service/maintenance contract, and 1,200 GAP. I never agreed to these items. They did void the original contract after I complained about it. The 907.00, 3289.00, and 1200.00 fees were removed on the new contract. Originally I was told the Hudson Nissan Lifetime Certified Plan was free. During the process of the new contract I was told by the finance guy himself that he knows he told me it was free, but it actually costs 1,187.00 and that fee was added to the total price of the vehicle. I asked two finance guys what the remaining 1,314.00 price increase was for neither of them could give me an answer. I have been told that the Lifetime Certified Plan cannot be declined or waived. It's required for all used vehicles sold by them. I have no intention of having Hudson Nissan work on the vehicle. I should not be required to pay the 1,1187.00 for the Lifetime Certified Plan that I was originally told it was free, but snuck into the price of the vehicle. During the sale process the sales manager had agreed to replace the damaged passenger side mirror at no additional cost . That is being used as part of the excuse as to why I have to pay. I am willing to forgo the mirror to not pay the fee. The price for the plan should be listed in a separate box for future sales and not tacked onto the price of the vehicle. It's very deceiving doing the process they are currently doing.

    On May 13, 2023, I purchased a used 2021 Toyota Corolla from Hudson Nissan of Charleston, SC. It began with the usual negotiation process. I am a single retired woman living on monthly social security benefits. The salesperson, Angel Vazquez was told unconditionally the numbers were my main priority. After we agreed on a price of $22,964.50 the contract went to Shane Stokes, Finance Manager, to print out the sales contract and make sure my financing is in order. After spending five hours there, then came the signing of the paperwork. Shane went over all the add-ons, explained each one and it was my decision if I wanted to purchase any of these additional warranties. I did purchase one that would cover the electronics on the car for $30.00 a month and could be canceled anytime.  Unfortunately, there was one fee of $2,499 for NanoCure that was "baked" into the price of the car that I didn't catch. On my salary, this was the last investment I needed. Once I discovered this additional charge I went back to the dealership and spoke to Shane Stokes and told him this is considered fraud at which time he blew up at me and kicked me out of his office. (Only a liar gets mad because he knows you know the truth) After that, I spoke to Becki Smith the Sales Manager. She said this was standard practice and since the paperwork was signed there was nothing she could do to help me. Buyer Beware! This dealership is slick and smooth. They “baked in” costs to the purchase price of a vehicle while doing the paper signing shuffle. Add-on concealment occurs when a salesperson or dealership charges a consumer for optional add-ons without being upfront about their inclusion or their associated costs.

    I have reviewed the folder and have looked over the documents. They are several places where she had signed and accepted and she reviewed the polices again on a separate visit. We do not ever have any intention to deceive anybody. On the second visit she had he opportunity to cancel and declined. I am still willing to cancel if she wishes.
