I am writing to formally file a complaint against Brian M. ********************** Contracting regarding unsatisfactory work performed on our back porch ******* January 2024, we discovered a leak in our back porch. We hired Brian ********************** to repair and waterproof the porch based on his assurance that he could stop the leak and prevent future issues. We signed the contract and paid $6,280 on May 9, 2024. Work began on July 23, 2024.The second payment of $6,000 was made upon completion of demolition. The epoxy coating was completed on August 14, 2024,. We began raising concerns on August 22, 2024, through text. In September and October we met in person to discuss issues with the porch, and on October 12, Mr. ********************** stated he would return on November 2 to inspect the epoxy. He later texted on October 20 and 28 asking for the remaining $2,000 payment. We reiterated our concerns about the deck. On November 1st, we returned home to find an epoxy ****** L-shape in the middle of the deck with debris stuck in it. We texted him again on November 13, attaching photos and reiterating our dissatisfaction.Despite this, on November 25, Mr. ********************** again requested the final payment. We informed him that per the contract, the last payment was contingent on satisfactory completion, and we were not satisfied. In response, on November 26, Mr. ********************** sent an inappropriate text, stating:Keep the check and call it my welfare check to you.We ceased communication after that. Now, as of May 12, 2025, after weeks of heavy rain, we have discovered new leaking on the deck. Despite paying $12,280, the deck is still leaking, the job was not completed to a satisfactory standard.Given the continued leak, unresolved electrical damage, poor workmanship, and the unprofessional and offensive communication we received, we are requesting a full refund of the amount paid. We trusted Mr. ********************** to repair our deck and prevent future damage, which he clearly failed to do.
