    Product: Ruger M77 MKII ************ (M77LXB Rifle Rail Mount)Purchase Date: January 31, 2025 Amount Paid: $89.94 Issue: Refusal to refund or exchange defective item Complaint Summary:I purchased a Ruger M77 MKII ************ rifle rail mount (model M77LXB) on 01/31/2025 from Weigand Combat Handguns, **** for $89.94. The product is intended to convert a dovetail mount to a picatinny rail.Soon after installing and using the mount, it became loose and failed to hold zero. I reached out to the company and was told I could submit the product for inspection for a possible refund or exchange.After submitting the mount, I received an email stating that my request was denied. The company claimed I failed to degrease the screws and threaded holes, apply thread locker, and check s**** tightness after every 12 shots, per their instructions. Because of this, they blamed the failure entirely on me and refused a refund or exchange.This response is unacceptable for the following reasons:I was initially told I could return the item for inspection and possible resolution, which implied fairness. Instead, the response was dismissive and final.The mount failed under typical usage, regardless of their extremely specific instructions, which are excessive for a product of this type.The communication was unprofessional and lacked any effort to resolve the ******** the packaging of the mount was a very simplistic set of instructions that did not state it had to be followed step by step or it would void refund/exchange. A video of installation was also given where everything stated by seller that I the customer "did not do". I followed the video instead and followed along. In the video the man uses the words I suggest, you can, you should, never you must do this.I am requesting a full refund of $89.94 or a replacement mount. The product did not perform as expected, and I believe the refusal to offer any resolution is unfair.

    I was contacted by this customer and he stated he had a failure of our product. He had attached photos. After examining the photos I determined that the failure was due to improper installation. I am the creator and designer of this part. I explained this to the customer. After an email discussion I offered to have him ship the part back for a full quality inspection. We were harassed with dozens of emails from this customer and his gunsmith even before we received that part back for evaluation.

    I received the part and did a full quality inspection and determined it was indeed installed incorrectly. The screws and threaded holes had oil on them and there was no thread locker applied to the screws and threaded holes to keep the screws from loosening. This was the reason for the failure.

    There is a warning on the product packaging insert that says the following. "Degrease all screws and threaded holes with aerosol cleaner. All screws must have thread locker applied". In the included printed instructions, an 8x11 sheet of paper, in the very detailed instructions it states the same thing. In the installation we provide access to it states the same thing and also on our web site. It is made very clear this is a necessary operation that has to be done correctly for good performance of our product.

    None of this was done. In the end we issued a courtesy refund in the form of company check number ***** for the amount of $79.95 a full refund for the product.

    I am submitting this complaint regarding a recent experience I had with Weigand machine and design, from whom I purchased a scope mount. Shortly after receiving the product, I encountered a malfunction and, to ensure safety, I brought it to a local gunsmith for inspection. As I am ******************** and currently limited on time, the gunsmith kindly offered to assist with the return process on my behalf.
    Despite my efforts to resolve the issue professionally and respectfully, I was met with poor customer service. Prior to submitting the part, the seller inaccurately accused me of harassment, which I found both unfounded and inappropriate. Furthermore, the seller initially refused to provide a refund or exchange until I stated my intention to file a complaint with the BBB.
    While I believe the scope mount is made from quality materials, I also understand that not every product is flawless. I expressed in my communication that this particular unit may have been a rare defect and made every effort to handle the situation reasonably. Unfortunately, the seller's lack of effective communication and unwillingness to cooperate has led to this formal complaint.
    I believe this business would benefit from improving its customer service practices and approach to communication, especially when dealing with service members and customers attempting to resolve legitimate concerns.

    The customer sent a complaint about one of our products with photos.

    As the designer of the product and author of all of the instructions I examined the photo and saw that the mount was installed incorrectly. The customer was told this.

    The customer did not accept this and I told him to send the part back for a full quality inspection. After the inspection I determined that the mount was not installed correctly and that we do not refund or exchange parts that were incorrectly installed.

    The customer did not accept this either and continued to harass me. In the end I wrote a check for a full refund which included shipping. The customer was paid back exactly what he paid us.

    We have done everything in our power to satisfy this customer and we absorbed the cost of the product the customer ruined.

    Date of transaction 4/05/23 Amount paid $76.90 I ordered a product from them and they sent me to wrong product. I called them to discuss the problem and I was called a liar and was told it was my fault for the wrong product as they said there computer system does not ever have problems with putting the wrong product in the order. I was hung up on and told to never call again and they would never do business with me and not exchange for the right product or return my money. Order # ******

    Good day,

    *********** placed an order using our shopping cart. We processed the order and shipped the product he ordered. He contacted us saying that was not the product he ordered and our shopping cart had made a mistake. This product has been selling on our cart for years with no issues. We took the time to check the cart link and assured him this was not the case and he had ordered the incorrect part. He became unreasonable and went as far as using profanity during the call. Once you do that with me or my staff you are done doing business with our company. He was told to return the products and he would be given a 100% refund but he said that was not good enough. He then went on to threaten me with filing a BBB claim, which obviously he did. He then called back twice also threatening me with legal action.

    We are completely willing to refund all of ************* money if he returns our product.
