I purchased firewood from D&R Land Resources through ********. When I saw the add my first question was how many facecord it would stackout to. I was told 9 facecord and as such I agreed to purchase the firewood. They brought the firewood and dropped it off, after they left I noticed the pile looked short and I decided to stack it to see how much was there assuming they would do the right thing if it was short, I ended up with 2.5 facecord so less than 1/3 the agreed upon quantity. I reached out and let them know and offered to let them come down and verify but was instead told that they meant to tell me 3 facecord. I offered several more than fair solutions assuming it was an honest mistake. I offered to have them bring me just 3 more facecord and we would call it even still ending up with less than 2/3 of what I was promised. Then I offered to help load it up if they wanted to come get it and we would just chock it up to a mistake, then I offered the option of a partial refund of $150 which still left me paying more than I normally do for firewood. They did not like any of those options, they offered $75 credit and I turned that down so they asked to have the owner **** **** me. I gave them my number and he started by blaming me for not realizing that they told me the wrong amount, when that did not work he then blamed his wife at which point I reiterated that I believed it was an honest mistake and that is why I had tried to offer solutions that did not put the brunt of the mistake on either party but he was not having it, he told me he was giving me a one time offer of a $100 check in the mail to take it or leave it which I also turned down. I reached out one last time to try to come to an amicable solution with the option of $125 cash and they have refused to respond. Based on what I was supposed to get they shorted me $250 based on my normal supplier they overcharged me by $200 so my offers where very fair and my compromise offer was extremely generous.
