Penn State University is engaging in deceptive and predatory enrollment and billing practices. I have been told I must re-take courses that have already been completed and fulfill degree requirements. These courses do not advance my progress toward graduation and serve only to increase tuition charges.Penn State refuses to properly recognize my previously completed general education credits. I have attended and graduated from other accredited universities, all of which accepted these credits without issue. Penn State is the only institution I have experienced that demands I retake courses already fulfilled elsewhere, costing thousands of dollars per class. These practices create unnecessary financial and academic obstacles, prolong time to graduation, and appear designed to generate additional revenue rather than support students.

Please note that Penn State faculty is the relevant academic disciplines review courses from other institutions for transfer to *** and therefore have ultimate authority as to their transferability.  The course in question from this individual was reviewed by faculty in 2025 and is therefore not eligible for re-review at this time.  The course does transfer to PSU; the student can work with their academic adviser to determine how the course can be best applied toward their PSU degree.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

While the university does have the ultimate decision, and I recognize that, it does not make it ethical or fiscally honest.  This is to ensure other students are warned of this practice.
