Pauls ********************************************* installed a retractable awning on the back of my house on June 1, 2024. I paid for the awning and professional installation. They ruined my siding while installing the awning and will not take responsibility for fixing it unless I pay them an extra $400. They blame the shoddy installation on the headers being in the wrong place on my house. My question to them is why didnt they check where the headers were before they started drilling into my siding? I have paid my bill but am not happy or satisfied because the repair job was never finished. They would not finish the job unless I paid them another $400. I refused to pay them any more money because they caused the damage.

I am writing in response to the complaint submitted by ******* ******** regarding the awning installation at their property on 6-1-24. We take customer feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
First and foremost, I want to express our commitment to customer satisfaction. After reviewing the complaint, I would like to address the specific concerns raised:
Our team follows a standardized installation procedure to ensure quality and safety. During the installation at ************************************************************, our installers conducted a thorough site assessment. However, we discovered that the house was missing a header, which we could not have known about beforehand. The missing header was discovered when we installed our third bracket to the house. This missing structural component impacted the installation and was beyond our control. We moved the awning higher on the house, and put Azek blocks to cover the holes in her siding. She did not like that the white blocks did not match her house and did not fit perfectly, so we agreed to replace them and paint them to match the siding. She then did not like the looks of that so we agreed to move a piece of siding from a less noticeable spot behind an AC unit, replace the damaged piece with new siding and paint it to match since we can not match the existing siding that is 26 years old. When we went out to do this, she decided that she no longer wanted what we agreed on. She wanted us to pay to replace the siding from the awning to ground. I said no, she threatened to hold payment and deduct the amount that she spends to replace siding. She said she was going to get her own siding guy to come out and give a price to fix it. After months of back and forth, I told her on 9-10-24 that since there was no way for us to make her happy that it would be best for her to pay us the remaining balance of $3900 and she can fix the siding on her own. She was upset that we were not willing to replace all of her siding. She then wanted us to come out and paint the piece of siding that we moved to a less noticeable area. I told her that I could do that but there would be a cost of $400 since we had to send someone to her house multiple times previously. She told me that that was a ridiculous price because it was such a small area that needed to be painted. She finally agreed to pay her balance, and she would take care of the painting herself.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please feel free to contact me directly at ************ or ******************************************* if you require any additional information.
    Sincerely,
    **** **********
