On October 2024 rented their hall barn for a baby shower that was going to take place in January 2025. Unfortunately on November 11, 2024 I receive bad news from my healthcare provider that I was going to be hospitalized having my baby at 34 weeks which falls the week of the event I tried contacting stoner comments for a refund of my money and she told me she wasnt able to return me my money. I am giving her a week notice of cancellation and its due to pregnancy health issues not because I want to cancel the party. She didnt give me no contract or anything but a receipt of payment. I understand if they have a penalty fee but its not fair to keep the whole amount when I am canceling two months before and you will obviously find someone else to book that date. I will understand if they have a cancellation fee of $100 and give me 400 back but I dont find that fair to keep the whole amount. Thats stealing peoples money.

Thank you for reaching out to express your concerns. We have received your consumer complaint form. We appreciate the opportunity to address your feedback regarding the non-refundable deposit for your event at Stoner Commons.

As outlined in our policies and reflective of standard practices in the event industry, deposits are non-refundable. This policy is in place to ensure fairness and transparency in our operations. Once a deposit is made, we block off that date on our calendar, cease marketing it, and decline other inquiries for that time. Given the nature of event planning, which often occurs months or even years in advance, it is highly unlikely that we can secure a replacement booking on short notice after a cancellation.

Our event coordinator attempted to explain this to you over the phone and present potential resolutions; however, the call was unfortunately disconnected before she could fully explain. Please allow me to outline the options she was prepared to offer:

      1. Refund Contingent on Rebooking: If we are able to secure another booking for the same date, even on short notice, we are happy to refund your deposit.
      2. Deposit Credit for Future Event: We are also willing to apply your deposit as a credit toward another event booked with us within one year of the original event date.

We hope that one of these options may provide a satisfactory resolution for you. Please feel free to contact our office directly at [phone number] or via email at [email address] to discuss these options further.

At Stoner Commons, we value every client and aim to provide exceptional service. While we understand that this situation may be frustrating, our policies are designed to ensure fairness and sustainability for all our clients and our business.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to work with you to resolve this matter.
