The customer claims the ********************** they purchased were defective. The battery purchased was a econo-battery that has a price point that allows the customer purchase a good ********************** at a very steep discounted price. Typically these batteries have a life a 2-3 years under normal driving circumstances. They are load tested before the customer purchases to ensure that the ********************** will perform as expected. In this case the customer came in and said they had a core. ( a core is generally required when the customer has purchased a **********************, the core is then recycled) the cutomer recieved the $11 core charge. The customer then came back in and said they had an aditional core which we paid the $11.( Please note that an aditional core is usually paid at $6 if the customer doesn't purchase a new *********************** the customer then said they had it tested at a different establishment and that they said it was "dead" however the correct term would have been "discharged" rather than dead.

The person that purchased the battery was not the person returning the product. I refunded an $11 core to her. She then came back later and asked why she didn't get a refund for the for the full price. She never indicated it was in her words the battery that she purchased, and had tested at a different place and that she expected a full refund. I tested the battery and it was fully charged and had no reason to be returned. I offered to show her the results and she called someone ( I assume her mother) the person on the phone yelled, screamed, threatened to call BBB, and would not speak to me without interupting and would not let me explain why the battery could not be retuned. In addition when the battery was intially returned the person indicated that the vehicle had a a start replaced. For information, a bad starter would / could easy discharge a battery. However in this case the battery tested here by professionals tested good. When the mother was on the phone with me she indicated that she did not put a starter on the vehicle. reason I mentionthis is because there were teo differen stories. As you can see by the attched test results using a device to test batteries that both the core battery and the second battery tested good, not discharged as the person claimed. I showed the results to the person at the time of transaction but she just kept saying the other palce said it was "dead". She offerd no evidence of the reusts from the other place that tested it.

    in summary,

Econo batteries offer no warranty, they are tested for voltage, CCA and are a great alternative and a dicounted price to purchasing a new battery.

    They have no warranty.

If a battery is placed in a vehicle ( whether its a new battery or an econo, there is no return warranty as it is considered a used battery.

Customer on the phone was very rude, screamed the whole time and would listen to facts offered.

For the record, to compramise, I texted the number and offered to give her $35 ( because I was sensitive to her dis-satisfaction) In my text I asked her to get back to me within 5 days, I never heard back.

Therefore as a used battery it was (after 5 days) sent to our recycler. So I consider that from this point forward no further actionis required.

Had the customer listened, and allowed us to consider options at the time of the return we coud have possibly reached a more favorable agreement.

It is unfortunate that this event caused the person to have a bad experience. However their facts were not correct and they refused to listen as expalined.
