My commercial equipment was towed by Mikes Towing on June 4th and was placed on hold by ********** State Troopers. I was told by Mikes towing that there would be some sort of adjustment to my overall bill once the hold was lifted for me to obtain my property. On June 16th the hold was lifted by ********** State Troopers. I contacted Mikes Towing on June 16th to get payment info just to be told that I was still responsible to pay full amount. I contacted the clerk on June 19th again to pick up my property and was told that I wasnt allowed to get my property and will need to get an attorney to pickup my property. My property is no longer on hold. I tried to pay over the phone and have another tow service to pick it up.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/12/2023

On 6/4/2023 at around 1:00am we were dispatched out to US ** NB at the ********* exit for a tractor trailer that was to be impounded by the ********** Township Police Department. We had to send two separate trucks  (a tractor and a wrecker), since in the state of Pennsylvania you can not legally tow a tractor and trailer together. Our operators were informed by ********** Township Officer **** that the entire unit was going to be put onto a police hold for the ************ State Police to do a DOT Safety Inspection. Their driver was arrested at the scene for warrants or they would have been told what our policies are on picking vehicles up at our lot. On 6/5/2023 we heard from ****** who let us know that we were ripping him off and wrongfully charging him. He then continued to cuss and yell at our dispatcher he spoke to. ****** and ****** continued to call several times throughout a few days.. We finally told them that we would no longer speak to them and that another representative had to call us to be in touch about this matter because ****** decided to call our dispatcher a “***** *** cracker *****”.. We were not going to continue to put up with being screamed, cussed at, and hearing racial slurs.. ****** still continued to call and she did speak to ******** who is another dispatcher who did try to help her out and was going to release the entire unit to her just so we could stop dealing with the situation and they could have their unit back. However ****** still was not cooperating and was continuing to argue with ********.. ****** should have a recording of that phone call because she waited until they were about to hang up to let ******** know she was recording it. They were not understanding that even though a vehicle of any kind is on police hold they still do have to pay for those storage fees… We never told them there would be any kind of adjustments to the bill. They wanted the price to be lowered, however we can not discount something that normal fees like an Admin Fee and Gate Fee were not even added onto the bill for them to already try to help them out with the price. Therefore, absolutely  no adjustments will be made to this bill. What we want is to be paid for the service we provided.

I would also like to let you know that a registered letter was sent to them stating that another representative had to take over this matter… We did hear from a lawyer and a towing company however neither one of them have been in contact with us again regarding picking their unit up.

Attached will be the letter… A picture of the rear tires of the truck which will show an understanding of why this unit was put on a hold for the DOT Safety Inspection.. As well as a card for the ********** Township Officer.
