  On Wed, March 20th approximately 10:30am, a gentleman approached my front door so I went outside, as the dogs were barking. He said his crew was doing an asphalting/sealing job the next street up and his boss told him to go around the neighborhood to see if anyone could use some sealing of their driveway as they were going to have extra. He said he could give me a discounted rate because of it -- there would be no labor charge, just the charge for the material. I was in a rush to get to work, and I agreed to have them do the work, as there were some cracks in the driveway. He returned to the house about 5pm to collect payment. He informed me at that time that the cost was $7,000. I was shocked needless to say because it was only two hours of work, according to my adult son who was home while they did the work. I was surprised by that number so he went down to $6,000. I agreed to pay him by check because I was feeling uncomfortable at the time and felt like I had been majorly taken advantage of and I wanted him gone. Once he left, I checked to see if this company even existed. I didn't find anything when I did a ****** search. I then started searching for scams like this and found others who had the same experience. I learned from doing more reading that this is never the case when these asphalt contractors do work. And that contractors never approach you in this manner. I felt stupid for falling for it, as I usually am pretty wary. When I recently talked to other local asphalt contractors, the average cost is significantly less so I believe this person/company was taking advantage of people in our area. After learning what I did, I stopped payment on the check. I will consider paying him/the company something for what they did, assuming they did it properly, but only after I get a couple of quotes from 2 other local contractors. $6,000 is highway robbery, and others need to be warned.

  On march 20, 2024 ************************* signed a contract and agreed to resurface her driveway with hot asphalt not a seal coat like she stated in her complaint at the price of $***** it was explained that our company charges $7.00 square ft. After measuring she had approximately ***** square ft totaling ***** they came to agreement on ***** with no problem or concerns after work was completed and payment was insured we discovered payment had been stopped without any contact about concerns from the customer we tried to reach out by phone and was blocked I dont understand how she states in her complaint that she could not look up our Company when she was left a contract and business card with our name and business license number address and phone Number all on it on the remark of local contractors she had reached out to well we are a local company ourself officed out of ********* York county and how would another company price our work she was given our price and agreed to it if she wanted to shop for prices then she should of done so before our asphalt was laid we dont expect another company price it sounds like to me if there been a scam its not by us and are hands are tied our material is down and our payment was stopped with no contact I would rather not go any further after her statement and blocking of our company I rather leave it just as that we are not looking for further payment on this matter thank you and you can reach me by email at **************************
