    My name is L ****, and I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with both my recent billing and the difficulty I experienced in canceling my service.Since April 22nd, 2025, I have repeatedly attempted to contact Va Light and Power regarding unexpectedly high gas bills. It wasn't until May 12th, 2025, that I finally reached a representative to lodge a formal complaint and request cancellation of my service (cancellation number #******). My gas bill for this year exceeds $200.00, a figure which is significantly higher than previous years and inconsistent with my energy consumption in my 700 sq. ft. apartment. A comparison of my usage over the past nine years reveals an inexplicable discrepancy. This substantial increase warrants a thorough investigation into potential billing errors or irregularities.This has been like riding a rollercoaster, when I reach out, I have to continuously repeat my current issue,even after providing cancellation number that I was given on May 12, 2025. I am still being told to call back to confirm the cancellation has been approved. I am still being billed. This is LUDICROUS! I have already contacted ************** and the ************* concerning these unusually high gas prices affecting customers. I request a comprehensive review of my account, a detailed explanation for the excessive charges, and confirmation of the successful cancellation of my service.     Over the past few months I've noticed my Washington Gas bill increased by more than triple the amount I had been paying. When I called to see why I was told VA ************************************************ told ************** I authorized them to supply my gas beginning 5/20/24. I never authorized this switch even though they say I did. Now ************** has put me on a payment plan of $69.82 for the next 11 months to pay the account off. This is not fair as I neve signed anything for this transfer to take place.I'm trying find out what recourse do I have. Can you help me?

    In September 2024 an employee with VA Light and Power came to my door for their services. I fill out a paper with my Washington Gas information. Once the employee left I felt off about the situation so I got the paper back with my information on it, ripped it up and threw it away. Several months later I see that VA light and power has been added to my Washington gas bill. I never authorized the account because I threw the paper away. I have called VA light and power several times and I am getting the run around. I have a balance of $227 with Washington gas because of this fradulent account. $227 needs to be adjusted on the bill and I was told I would get a refund for $104.40 would be refunded to me for the previous payment I made.

    In approximately November of 2024, our home was visited by a representative of VA light and power llc. They asked us some questions prior to asking for a signature to transfer our power services to a secondary provider. We declined signature. On 10 DEC 2024, we addressed that we never signed up for their services noting that this is fraudulent activity as we never signed anything and directed them to cancel our account. This was done in accordance with the letter we from the company. On 21 FEB 2025, we received a significantly higher bill for our services with electricity, again asking them to cancel the account as it we were fraudulently transferred. I cannot estimate the total damages, because its unclear how long they have fraudulently billed us. The one bill we fully understand increased the costs over approx 800 dollars.

    VA Light and Power came as a solicitor and asked to complete a survey about our current gas company *************** They only asked for ID for correct spelling of name, etc. no billing info was provided.A few weeks later we received a **** *** out of the normal range and a notice saying that our new provider is VA Light and Power, when we never agreed to switch providers and start service with them. My name and address are both wrong on the documentation so I am unsure how they have cause to even bill my place of residents. They charge 2x -3x as much as ************ and are expecting me to pay a 300 gas bill for Jan-Feb and another 300 gas bill for Feb- march. ************ only charged me ***** in a billing period.. I have filled a complaint with ********. I also have filed a complaint with VA Light and Power but they claim they cannot do anything.

    Received a bill from my Washington gas company and VA light and power are listed as a third party. I have never signed up nor agreed to be serviced by this company. They are listed as a third party and charging me $310 for service that I never applied for. When I called customer service ***** stated "it was not her job to resolve my problem. This company has stolen my information and is now trying to steal my money. Every time I call to speak with accounting they NEVER answer.
