      I went to this company for a 5x10 storage unit, As per their website, it was 35 dollars a month, plus tax. Two months went by and the "raised their price" to 50. I ordered a second unit because the first wasn't big enough after the "price increase" and it was 35 dollars. It's been six months, and both units at 5x10, I'm being charged separate prices for. One for 35, one for 50. When I texted and talked to someone about this, they said 50 is the price, 35 is a promotional. But, after six months, it's the same, and even their website and signs AT THE BUSINESS ITSELF still say 35 dollars. They've been overcharging me for months and refuse to acknowledge it.

      Good afternoon, after reviewing the  complaint I have found the following information.

      This storage facility is just getting off the ground and we have been offering promotional pricing. 

      Mr ******* received this promotional pricing for his 1st unit rented October 8th 2024. 

      We sent our rental increase letters for all those tenants from that promotion at the end of December for rent to be increased starting February 1st. 

      He then rented another unit on February 19th at the promotional price. 

      We have not raised that groups rates yet. 

      Therefore that is why he is paying different prices. 

       

      Yes, our website says 35 for the 5x10 but that is for new rentals.

      I was a customer of ********************************************* from February 2020 to March 2025. In 2022 our rent was raised to cover the cost of a new security system and cameras. My rent went from $69 to $110. The security system was never installed. They said they do daily and weekly checks of the properties, but this clearly cant be the case. As I found a unit in the same row as mine raided and left open for well over a week. Every single one of their customers here in ********************** were left vulnerable to theft and didnt even know it we all thought there were security cameras. I mean we had to pay higher rent for them. I spoke to the owner (**** ******) and he told me he was going to compensate for some of the losses. Now he refuses to acknowledge any attempts to contact him. Or provide me with information I requested from him. I have quite the amount of info regarding communications with Appalachian storage. As well as some of their customers that were affected due to the negligence to provide proper security. I am currently still gathering info and talking to people affected by the catastrophic failure of Appalachian storage to provide security. The stories are heartbreaking. Over 14 different units were broken into, mine included. This resulted in a loss of close to $100,000 for their customers. Probably a lot more than that. I personally lost about $10,000 worth of belongings, irreplaceable items from family that has passed away. Police reports have been filed, but there is little they can do to catch the theives because there is NO security on the premises. I would like compensation as I was promised by the owner of Appalachian storage before this has to become a legal matter. I attached some of my screen shots and info I have acquired. I have more if needed.
