I had taken my truck into the trussville Alabama location in June , 2021 for tires while there I also needed an oil change. Also bought a lifetime alignment since I was getting new tires. Upon leaving I noticed that the truck had not been ailigned, called back and they and inquired if they alignment had been done. They said no didn’t have time to do it, bring it back in on a Thursday. Several months later my engine in my truck goes into limp mode. Towed it to the dealership for a diagnostic check where they said that the head gaskets, cylinders lifters and a couple other things were damaged. They advised me to check the oil sticker. The oil change that occurred at pep boys , come to find out they put the wrong oil in the truck 5w30 and not Ow20 that is advised to do by GM and is on my dip stick. They never asked if I wanted a different grade of oil. My truck and the type of engine only take ow20. I called their customer service line and made a compliant, reached out to store manager he blew me off, called the district manager where he filed a 3rd party claim for damages, it was towed back to pep boys where the 3rd party independent adjuster came out and said that the oil was fine. They denied my claim and to have my truck engine fixed. They also wouldn’t allow me to be there when they 3rd party adjuster looked at my truck. It clears states I. The owners manual from GM/Chevy that the only oil to be put into the truck is ow20 nothing else is equivalent to that engine. I also have documentation where the oil was changed there before and they used the right oil and where it has been changed numerous times at other places using the right oil. Now I am out a truck that I still owe money and now needs a new engine because the negligence from a careless technician. Not only that they never told me that changed the oil to a different grade or even asked.

Pepboys (store #1054) at 3455 Conner Street in Bronx New York, 10475 gave me the most terrible experience I’ve ever had at an auto repair shop. I came in to get 4 new tires installed and it took them FIVE HOURS to do the job. I came to the store on Sunday May 22, 2022. I made a 10 AM appointment to buy and get the tires installed. I arrived at the shop at 9:50 AM. There was one other customer in the store when I arrived. The service manager/ person working at the desk was Dennis and Jonathon and Yussif worked on my car according to the paperwork. I told Dennis I had a 10 AM appointment, I needed to buy 4 new tires, get an oil change and get windshield wiper blades. He suggested an alignment, so I said that was fine. I sat there for hours waiting. I didn’t say anything because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were busy. No came to give me an update on what was taking so long with my car. At 1:40 PM I started getting antsy because I had to go home, get ready for work, drop my wife to her job, and be to work by 3PM. I asked what was taking to long and Dennis told me everything is done they are waiting to put my car on the alignment rack. Why is it that almost FOUR HOURS had passed and my car was just being put on the alignment rack? It doesn’t take FOUR HOURS to change tires, oil, and windshield wipers. If I knew it was going to take this long, I would have just bought the parts and did the job in my driveway myself. I asked when the car would be done and explained I had to be to work by 3PM as well as well as drop my wife to work. Dennis told me “It shouldn’t be long.” Time passed and I asked one of the guys and he said maybe an hour but it shouldn’t be that long. No straight answers from anyone. Everything was done by 2:43PM. I couldn’t drop my wife at work and I got work late that day because my shift started at 3PM. This is VERY unacceptable. Why would it take FIVE HOURS to do basic maintenance on a car on a weekend morning w

Had my Car in last week for oil change and front end alignment. They had my Car for 4 1/2 hours . I get up there still have to wait because they have spilled oil all over my Engine. The manager there Stephen says man it was a sloppy mess in here . Know my Jeep Wrangler does not run the same. My engine is still missing the Engine cover they said they were going to pay for it and still nothing a week later. The Engine light is on . I keep calling no one answers usually. Stephen has said he would cover stuff ,but nothing is done yet. I just wonder how many other cars their mechanics have had oil spills on their engines. I want something done to get my Truck back in running order and my Engine Cover put back on so my Engine doesn't get ruined , unless it all ready is from the careless work from their mechanics.

Had work done on my car a week and a half ago to replace a shaft and seal. The had to go back in yesterday to replace a strut. Having waited a few hours, was told fluid was leaking from my car. And that they could figure out why. So ended up going to Brakeplus and was told that the leak was do to a missing seal. So in the long run had to pay double for service that should have already been done.

Had my car tow on Saturday April 30,2022 since my warranty company SilverRock states pep boys are in network. Had coolant overheated and smoke coming out from under the hood. Called pep boys to informed them that my car was in fact begin tow to there store . Waites 3 days asking for them to contact SilverRock. Pep boys stated they did not have a technician available!! Called there customer service someone will reach out to me no one called. Called pep boys again this is now Monday 3 straight day no answers. Finally got someone on the phone who told me my tires were looked at by the technician and that they were fine. My tires have nothing to do with my coolant overheating. Worst store ever stay away from them . They could care less
