In March of 2021 my family paid a junk removal service owned by Jamie McGovern to go through my uncle's items at his house who had recently passed away. We specifically told Jamie that he is to keep all WWII items and give them to us. He assured us that he would. But we found out later that he lied and sold my uncle's WWII canteen to someone who then sold it again. We found out about it after being contacted by the 2nd ****** who bought it. Jamie has since ignored any and all phone calls and emails. I initially offered to buy the canteen from the ****** who contacted me but he did not want to sell it. A few months ago the ****** with the canteen agreed to sell it to me. I believe that the fact that I was able to show him a list that my uncle wrote in which he stated that he wanted the canteen to go to me was the deciding factor. The reason for the delay in filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau is because I was not able to get the canteen back until recently and I did not have a dollar amount to request from Jamie for the value of the canteen until now which I do. The cost for me to buy the canteen back was $106.77 and I would like the BBB's assistance in payment for the canteen. I am attaching a photo of the canteen.
