On Sunday 10/6/24 approximately 2:30p, I parked in the ***************** right beside Clean Rite laundry. Didn't realize I couldn't park there. ******* towing, within less than 30 seconds had my car up on his tow. I immediately came out and asked why my car was up there. This man is rude, sexist, and just wanted money in his pocket. He kept saying 'I'm not losing my job for you'. And at one point sat on the curb next to me, and said "maybe now i will be a little less intimidating". I politely let him know he wasn't intimidating. At the end of the day, the man got his $425 just to put my car down. After all this, I'm sitting in the back lot of the laundromat, waiting on my laundry. I see a white car park there close to the back door, but in the same parking lot I got towed in. The guy in the white car, got out and went into the laundromat. A few minutes later, that guy comes out of the laundromat, backs his car up under an awning, take a few pictures and walk back into the laundromat. ******* towing pulls up, put his car on the tow and up. A few minutes later the guys comes out of the laundromat, the passenger gets out of the tow truck and knows the guys. They high five. I took my camera out and recorded all 9 minutes of them chatting it up while his car was up, than they carefully put his car down without getting the $425 from that guy. Seems like the guy that towed my car was willing to lose his job for that guy. This has caused not only monetary issues, but emotional issues as well. Is it because I wasn't a man that I had to pay that "$425 fee that's the only way he will put the car down"? I want my money back from this business, and for the BBB to have them out there as a sexist business. I have everything on tape and I am ready to take this to court.Initial Complaint

On 5/18/24, *****'s Emergency Response Towing removed my car from the library lot shortly after I parked there after hours for a children's concert across the street. When I called, I specifically asked if I could pick my car up the next day (Sunday) and was told yes and to call back later to schedule a pick up. The person also mentioned it would be $475, several hundred dollars more than other towing companies around *********. An hour later, someone called and repeatedly asked for my address. My husband was out of town and I didn't feel comfortable giving my address out without confirming *****'s wanted to drop off my car. When I said this, the person said I was "burning time" and demanded I pay in cash to get my car back. This hadn't been mentioned on my first call. I said I didn't have $475 in cash, and asked if they'd take a check. The person barked "cash only" and said I had until 10pm to pick my car up or it would be an extra $75/day and that I couldn't pick my car up the next day (Sunday). I asked the location of my car so I could go to an ATM nearby. They refused to tell me and said to call when I had cash in hand. When I did, nobody answered. Worried I'd miss the 10pm deadline, I called until someone picked up and told us the address (*************). My friends drove me to the lot, which was dark, unsecured, and unmarked. Pennsylvania Statutes Title 73 P.S. Trade and Commerce ****** states that towing companies have to have marked storage facilities. Two people arrived in an unmarked minivan. One of them threw open the door and yelled, "What's wrong with you?" The man proceeded to shout at us (maybe for calling too many times?) and refused to take my license from my hand, demanding my male friend give it to him. He said, "I could make this $800 on Monday," threatening to keep my car. My friend and I managed to diffuse the situation, but it was bizarre and alarming. The threat of increasing the price solidified to us how much of a scam this was.Initial Complaint

I am a volunteer at ******************* *************************************** was told that I could park in the lot behind the building after 5:00 pm. See the attached map. I parked there after 5:15 pm on January 24, 2024. When I returned to the parking lot at 8:30 pm that evening I found that my car had been towed away by Eddies Emergency Response Towing. This is not acceptable because I had permission to park there.Initial Complaint

On Tuesday October 10, 2023 I parked my car around 3:55pm outside a family dollar located at *** * ***** **, Allentown, PA *****. My vehicle got towed at approximately 4:20 pm, outside the family dollar parking lot. A staff member from family dollar provided me with the towing company contact information; ###-###-#### where I tried to contact them, but no one would pick up the phone. Minutes later a tow truck driver showed up at the parking lot and asked him if he had towed my car and he said “they did”, I explained the reason why my car was parked there and told him I was attending a community service event at central elementary school around the corner where me and my mate where giving free haircuts to the kids from 4 to 6 pm. He stated he would explain the situation to his boss *****. I asked him where the location of my car was and he wouldn't tell me, his response was “ I don’t know”, I called the number I was given again and told the tow driver I wasn't getting a response and he told me to text or leave voice mail, I texted the owner and I did get a response. I identified myself to ***** and gave him a description of my car, then ***** stated I was going to get a call soon, it passed 15-20 min and nothing. The truck driver had left and I looked the business up online (Eddie’s Emergency Response Towing), located on *** * *** **. Allentown, PA *****; according to their business website, I proceeded to drive to what ended up being a complete empty lot. After about 45 minutes had passed still had no response from ***** or anyone about the location of my car. I went to the Allentown police department to file a stolen car report and spoke to three detectives, two of them provided me with their business card ****** **** and ****** *****. One of the detectives gave ***** a call which he answered right away and got into an argument about my situation. After the argument between the detective and *****, I got a call from the truck driver 5 minutes after, from a no caller ID and it was the same truck driver I spoke to earlier outside family dollar who finally was able to tell me where my car was. He knew exactly who I was and was aware of the whole situation about me going to the police department and started to intimidate me, arguing and accusing me of "playing games with him" and was very upset as of why I was getting the police involved. I told him all I wanted was to get my car back, I asked him for his name, but he refused to give it to me and gave me the following address; *** * ***** *****, Allentown PA, ***** and told me that I needed $475 cash only to get my car back at that location. My car had only been taken for less than 2 hours and felt it wasn't right they were overcharging me for the towing. The driver had lied to me about the location of my car since he was the one who towed it, and also refused to give me his name and would not give me a business card. He also said the owner ***** was the only person who could open the gate and release the car, which was also a lie since the same truck driver was the one who released the car to me that night after giving him $475.00 dollars in cash and he was the only one at the impound lot. He took a picture of my drivers license along with the cash, and the receipt that he wrote to me in which the name of the business, address, reason for towing the car and name of the person who towed it was missing.
