I would like to dispute a part of the amount I paid for storage of my car, ****** Leaf 2013. I paid the total of $1,196 on May 30, 2025. I would like to get a refund for 7 days of ********** car was towed to the yard of Alpha Towing following an accident on May 20. The following day, I called them about retrieving the car. I knew that there is a daily storage fee, which I wanted to avoid. I was ready to arrange the pick up of the car that day, During the conversation, I was asked whether my car and the other car involved in the collision had insurance. Since this was the case, I was assured that the insurance will take care of my car. As it turned out later, this was a misleading information. It took 2 weeks for insurance companies to determine the fault of the accident while the storage fee was accumulating.I also called my insurance company who promised to contact the towing company and arrange inspection and towing of the car. This apparently never happened after insurance adjuster realized that I don't have a collision insurance. She sent me a message by email that "strongly suggested" that I pick up the car in case I was at fault. Unfortunately, the message came to email account of my wife and was unread for a few days. After the Memorial Day weekend I received a certified letter with notice of lien in the amount of $836 on the title of my car and I knew something must went wrong. I called the towing company again to request an explanation. Why was I told the misleading information that insurance will take care of my car? I came to pick the car on Thursday, May 29. I asked for a partial refund of the storage charges. Instead, I was baited by the offer of the towing company to keep the car for a few extra days (to let insurance be sorted out) in exchange in exchange of frozen charge. At home I realized that it was a terrible advice and next day, May 30 I picked up my car.I asked for itemized receipt, but I was only given the attached receipt.

I'm writing in response to the complaint from ****** ****** (ID: *********.

Our records indicate that we attempted to work with the customer to resolve the storage charges. On May 29, we offered to hold the charges at the current amount through the weekend, allowing them time to receive a resolution from their insurance company. It appears that during this period, the customer became aware of their insurance policy's limitations, specifically the lack of collision coverage and their responsibility for the accident.

On May 30, the customer, along with family members, retrieved the vehicle and settled the outstanding balance. We also contacted their insurance company on their behalf, providing them with the necessary contact and claim information.

Based on our interactions and the information gathered, we believe the issues arose from a misunderstanding of their insurance policy, delayed communication with their insurance provider, and unread emails. Therefore, we do not believe a refund is warranted in this instance.

    Thank you,

    *******

I am rejecting this response because the explanation omits the central issue of my complaint: what happened between May 21 and May 28, 2025. My main complaint is that the towing company on ****** has incorrectly informed that my wrecked car will be taken care by the car insurance and I don't need to worry about it. I called them on May 21 to pick up the car from storage already on that day. However, I was convinced by the towing company that this is not needed as this will be taken care by the insurance company. This ill advice has costed me unnecessary storage fees.

In addition, it is not true that the business tried to work with me or insurance company in the period from May 21 until the the day I showed up at their location on May 29. I left them my phone number on May 21, but they didn't try to contact me in any way. Instead, without contacting me, they put a lien on the title of my car. The lien was sent by certified mail and arrived only on May 28.

My complaint is that they should have warned me that this would happen if the car is not retrieved either by me or insurance company within short time (I believe 5 days) when I called them on May 21. Instead I incurred a large amount of unnecessary charges: issuance of lien and storage charges.

In summary, the business has not tried to work with me in any way in the period of May *****. I agree that they were working with me and spend considerable amount of time explaining my situation on May 29 and then on May 30. But this is not the merit of my complaint.

I kindly ask you to reconsider your decision. Thank you for your consideration.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******

I believe Alpha Towing is a part of a scam to tow unknowing patrons from the Heron store parking lot. There are signs around that Franklin **** business for patrons to park to shop, or be towed. I was literally parked for 5 minutes, to order lunch and go pay at Subway. I was towed so fast I literally thought my car was stollen. I called the police and they told me it was towed. They came and stole my car, and say that the call was "authorized" but will not tell you WHO called in the tow, and they don't let you see the photos of your vehicle PRE tow. I want to see the photos, I want to know who called in the tow. I have a right to know. It's my car.If it is unauthorized to tow, then I need my $315 it took to get my car out if tow 2 hours after it was towed Everyone i talked to REFUSED me a name of the party that called in the tow. I walked around to every manager of every business and NONE said they called in a tow. They(Alpha) did not give me a reason why the 6 other cars parked there before myself had not been towed. Why was I being targeted?I know the longer you let your car stay locked away, the more it costs you, abd the law states they can take ownership afterr 30 days. Pretty sweet deal especially if you tow a Dodge Charger like mine.I am a mother of 2. I saved for a month to take my daughter to ******. I stop and get her lunch and my car gets stollen.Alpha even told me not to fight it in court. "It would cost too much" and I am sure I am not the first one to hear that. I was violated. the tow was unjustified. I had my wallet and all my belongings in there. Luckily I had a cell phone or I would have had a bigger panic attack than I did.Do not trust these people. They are wolves/thieves in sheep clothing. I am confident that I am not the only one they have wronged. I hope other speak up.I want my $315 back.

This person has filed a complaint with the *** as well. We have video footage from the security company that we requested after being notified of her *** complaint.  The video footage clearly shows this person parking at the back of ****** and walking to ***********************************************. Then much later than 5 minutes returning and seeing her car was towed. She never once went to Subway. She stated in her *** complaint that she had receipts to show the times, which I asked for, and she has never been able to ************* person is mad that she got caught parking illegally and that her car was towed. She was shown the signature of the authorizing agent of that property, as well as emailed her the receipt, which has a copy of the signature and has a link to all of the pictures of her vehicle. Which includes pictures from before we touch her vehicle, once hooked up, and once dropped off in our yard. If you would like, I can forward that receipt to you as well, with the hyperlink to the pics. We have absolutely nothing to hide, we only do these types of tows by the book/law.
