We are remodeling our kitchen and our general contractor, RTP ************ advised us to order our countertops from Athenian Marble. Athenian measured our countertops 10/11/22 and our general contractor signed the bid approx. 10/12/22. Athenian advised us it would *********** weeks to manufacture and install the countertops. On 11/15, Athenian (***********************) advised our General Contractor that their supplier advised them when the granite was ordered that the color was discontinued but that they could still supply it. However, on 11/15 Athenian stated the granite was still unavailable. I then contacted D'Andre at Athenian on 11/15 to advise her that our kitchen remodel is dependent upon installation of the countertops and that they should have notified me in October that the color was discontinued as this was a big risk to delivery of the project. D'Andre did not seem concerned about the problem and stated she would try to contact the supplier to secure the granite. On 11/17, ***************** with Athenian e-mailed our general contractor the following: "****, per your email 11-16-22, you stated that you are not the contractor on this job and that it was strictly between Athenian Marble and the homeowner. This invalidates the order for ***************** because you signed the bid. As a result, the bid is no longer valid therefore the manager has canceled this order. However, the Desert slab should arrive at MSI (in ******, **) today or tomorrow and it will be available for an alternative fabricator to use if you choose. May we recommend Rivers Edge."I then called our General Contractor and he stated that he signed the bid from Athenian which bound him as the General Contactor for the job. After discussion with our General Contractor, we have decided Athenian is not a reliable company to deal with and that we will find another supplier. This issue has significant impact to our kitchen remodel. Our customer experience with ********************** was horrible.
