  BUYER BEWARE!! I hired Hastings *********** to construct a retaining wall and steps for my home. They offered me a discount if I paid in one payment. I did so. The work was absolutely HORRIBLE. Not only were there gaps and spaces in between the concrete blocks, there weren't lined properly. I had children and older people fall on the uneven blocks. I reached out to them several times for about a year, sending pictures and videos. My calls and emails went unanswered. Finally, a representative from their business came to my home, unannounced, admitted the work was shoddy and poorly done. He vowed to make it right, but I never heard from him again. Out of fear of being sued, I had no choice to pay another contractor to fix their work. They do terrible work. Do not hire ****************************** Not only did I pay ***************************** $16,000, but I also had to pay another contractor to do the work correctly.

  Buyer beware Job was to replace front porch and steps into the house. We also talked about possibly cutting block foundation to power the entry door on the semi-atteched garage which came off a stoop on the steps. We talked about eliminating the stoop and at no point in the sales discussion was the possibility of keeping the stoop mentioned (I have the whole conversation on Ring video). The quote for everything, including cutting the block so the door could be lowered said it was going to be an 11 ft stoop. So when we said we were going to wait on lowering the door, it didn't surprise me to see the revised quote still said 11 ft stoop.I was surprised when I returned to the finished product to find the stoop, replaced rather than eliminated as we discussed. This made the stoop go all the way to the door, making it impossible to lower the door to be even with the garage floor without cutting out a chunk of what they just poured.When I confronted **** about this not being what we talked about he said they did nothing wrong. The paper said 11 ft and that's what they did. If I wanted something different than I should have noticed and said something. So apparently I should have gone out with a tape and confirmed his measurements. They offered nothing to make it right. Not to cut out that about 5x5 section, not to build me a cheap step inside the garage. Nothing except to demo that little section for free, should I hire them again to fix the stoop. Something which costs them practically nothing.They also didn't tool the control joints, so now I have ugly saw cuts.The only positive things I can say is I did like how they encased the foundation on brick columns rather than pouring around them. That does look better. And the job was otherwise done well (pitched right and so forth).

  If you are looking for attention to detail and finished looking product, do not use these guys. They recently poured a concrete patio. They cracked multiple pavers on our patio. I now have a two toned porch (concrete is different colors 2 months later...they say it will cure) and it is already cracking, as well as pitting, cracking, just overall poor workmanship.
  I have requested help with these issues multiple times. I have been told I will be there by Adam to which he doesn't come out and he tells me I am lucky that I only had a few broken pavers. After doing the work, he said that they age of my home is the reason.
  Just beware here....if you want a driveway they may be able to do it. If you want a finished porch or something else, steer clear of these guys.

  We had them add an addition to our patio and pour cement around our fire pit. They did a lousy job on both. The contractors they hired said they had 35 years experience. He told us he could take the machine through our gate but when they got here they said they could not get the smaller equipment so they took our fence down and tore our yard to pieces. The contractors fought the whole time (I was told they have been fired), and after they completed the patios, the water lay in puddles on both our patio and the fire pit area. We called them out to look at it. The guy over the project came out and looked at it and said that it definitely was not poured correctly and that it was not poured to allow the water to run off. We also showed him the cement that they put all over our brick and our siding. He said they would come out and clean up the cement, and he would talk to his boss about the bad job they did. He calls the next day and said his boss said there was not anything they could go about the lousy work they did. When we told him we did not want to give them the remainder of the money until they fixed the problem they said they would put a lien on our home and come out and dig the patio back up then we would be out the huge deposit we already put down so we paid them. I have called them so many times and every time they tell me the same thing, they will be out to fix it and clean up the mess. They even go as far as to schedule a time to come out three or four times but then never show up. When I call them back, they come up with all kinds of excuses as to why they could not come. One lie after another It has been over a year, and they are still promising they will put us in for the warranty to come fix it. I would highly recommend you not do business with this company. I could go on and on about the lies we were told. The statement on their website about quality work and good customer service is a big joke.

  For the high cost we paid, I expected better. The concrete was stained the day it was poured. It took several hours to get it poured, which I think contributed to how it looks. There are two cracks that were fixed once after many messages, but they reopened and still am waiting on the repair. It was poured a year ago and the red chalk for cutting is still visible as is poor broom work. Thus, I do not recommend this business.

  I hired ************** because I saw other concrete driveways they had done in my neighborhood. They removed the concrete and did an outstanding job. I will give them a 5 for the part of the job. However, If it were possible to give them a negative 10, I would for the sorry job that was done on pouring the driveway. The saw cuts to control cracking were not straight. When it rains the water runs toward the house. The sealer they put on the concrete looked liked the put it on with a mop. I spoke with one of the owners when he came to collect the final payment, brought to his attention. That was not true. I feel he lied to me to get his money. He said it will go away in 30 Days. Well it did not. I also have a High spot in the middle of the carport. I also spoke with **** and explained everything that I was not happy with, and have not heard. He was very friendly when he gave the estimate, and did have two of the people that poured the new concrete, to fix the sealer. The couple worked almost 8 hours and did not get it *********** of the gentlemen offered me $500.00 to call it good. I told him that I paid for a good job and thats what I expected. I should have taken to money because they took a break and never came back. They left some of their equipment and tools at my house. I know you should never pay till you are happy with the job. But I was LIED too.
