      Case for compensation due to mechanic negligence Mytee Automotive. 1145 S. Reynolds Rd - ******, OH 43615 Phone : 419-386-0123. On the date of Friday July 29th at roughly 2pm I received a call from my mechanic at Mytee Automotive regarding a new issue that was not present before the vehicle went into their shop. My 1991 Ford Econoline Van had a new engine placed by the previous owner which was destroyed due to the shops negligence and lack of attention while testing my van for other issues. on 07/22/2022 I sent my van in to have a fuel pump replaced and they discovered the van has 3 fuel pumps. To test which one was broken they let the vehicle run until it stalled out in order to test and this is when my vehicle was damaged. The mechanics neglected to properly inspect the antifreeze levels in the vehicle and caused to engine to overheat while they were testing it. This problem resulted in a blown head gasket which costs upward of $2000, far more than the $500 I was willing to pay for the fuel pump and I am seeking compensation for my loss regarding the negligence of the mechanics.

      I am responding to case number ******** regarding ****** ***** *******.  Mr. ******* alleges that we negligently damaged his vehicle while diagnosing a fuel pump problem.  He seeks damages well in excess of the value of the vehicle.

      Mr. ******* brought his vehicle to us to diagnose an intermittent problem with his fuel pump.  Because of the intermittent nature of the problem, it was necessary to let the vehicle run until the problem occurred.  Mr. ******* drove the vehicle to our shop.  Mr. ******* never mentioned to us that the vehicle had an overheating problem.

      We did no work or diagnosis on the cooling system.  We were not asked to do any work or diagnosis on the cooling system.  We had no reason to believe that was a problem with the cooling system (as it was driven to us by the customer).  Our work consisted solely of letting the vehicle idle while we checked fuel pressure.

      The fact that the vehicle overheated as a result of idling is a clear indicator that there was a problem with the cooling system when it arrived at our shop.  Mr. ******* wants us to fix a cooling system problem for free when it is clear that problem existed before the vehicle entered our shop.  We are not willing to do so.
