    I commissioned two memorial pieces of art from Miller's New Breed Metal Welding and Fabrication Gardenscape owned and operated by Michael M., and his mother Penny H., acting as his designer on the business' behalf last year. I gave them a deposit of $200 via credit card. Penny came to my house to verify details of the project, but did not provide me with copies of the work orders by email as promised. Afterward the meeting at my home, it was very difficult to pin down Ms. Penny H. for any specific work details that would be done. She finally said that I would "definitely have the pieces before October 31st, 2023", which was the one-year anniversary of my husband's passing, and I wanted these completed for a family memorial gathering. I paid by credit card and tried to contact her numerous times, but had a difficult time getting a response by phone or text, so I called her son Mike, the fabricator last year, he said he would get back with me within the week and he did not. They have refused to return my phone calls. I have a thread of texts showing that I had tried to communicate with them to no avail. They have taken my deposit without giving me any finished product, no communication about why there are delays. They basically took my $200 credit card deposit and stiffed me. Please note the text thread where on June 21 2023, Penny says "out of town. I will call. You will definitely have way before Halloween. Way" ... From that point on I had difficulty getting response from her, and Mike M. said he would call me back and did not, and has not made any attempt to communicate with me by email, phone or text. I have tried to give plenty of time for them to reach out and complete this project. But they have not, so the last communication I've sent I'm asking for a full refund. I feel they have taken advantage of me unfairly. I have no finished product to show for. I am asking for a full refund. The promised date was before October 31, 2023, so within 1 year filing.
