I got a crack in my windshield from a rock hitting it. I called my insurance agent and they put in a claim. I went to Butler Auto Glass(Adkins auto glass). I took it to them and I was happy with the installation. My new windshield cracked 3 weeks after it was installed. I was told it was either a stress fracture or an impact. When I went back for them to check they insisted it was an impact. They said it was from the windshield wiper, but it wasn't near the metal part. They claimed that the spot was the impact, but it was on the inside! My insurance had paid for it so I contacted my agent again. They put in a second claim. We decided to go with Safelite for the new one. When I got to Safelite I asked the guy to check out the windshield. He looked at it and immediately said it was a stress fracture. There wasn't an impact. And the glass was uneven. He also confirmed that the chip that was seen WAS on the inside. Plus he said that the rubber wiper wouldn't break it, it might if it was under the metal arm. The cause was little to no silicone under the window. I gave Butler a chance to make it right but they dismissed me. I would NOT recognize Butler. I hope my insurance company changes their relationship with this business.
