I'm an elderly woman who had a house fire 3/1/22.The 2 companies listed below taught me what elder abuse was. 3/1/22 the dehumidifier in my basement caught fire and I put it out.I made the mistake of hiring Restore Pro,Sandusky,to rid my house of the soot.Restore Pro never asked if they could bring ****-Mich.&N.W.Ohio-into my home.**********,Prj.Mgr.& ******** Restore Pro stated **** had to remove all textiles, framed pictures from my home to be cleaned as these items had soot on them. They soot will make me sick and possibly kill me. I spoke with firemen and none of them had ever heard of soot causing a homeowner sickness or death. ******* threw all clothing, textiles into a bag as though they were trash.I saw no soot on anything and told him to put them back.He loudly stated the soot would get into my skin and illness, possible death would occur. I called ** ***** the next day and told him to return everything. He lied and told me they were already in the cleaning process. 6 months later all of my clothes have not been returned.79 of my textiles were damaged or LOST? My dresses had grease & fooprints, suits were missing bottoms.14 leather & Suede jackets were destroyed.******* stopped taking my phone calls. The 2 companies pulled off another con with both rec.over $40,000. from my ins.& my rates were increased. ********,Whse.Mgr.**** submitted a list of all items LOST,destroyed for my ins.co. My ins.co. was to pay me a depreciated amount for them. Many of the items returned from **** were so badly stained I had to toss them. What can you do to prevent this?Work with your local dry cleaners. They will contact your ins.adj.re.pmt. Wash your walls with Dawn & Mr.Clean. Your ins.co.will reimburse you. 6 months after the fire,79 of my items were ruined,LOST, by ****. The 2 worthless companies go on to their next victim. I would strongly urge you never to use Restore Pro,Sandusky,or ****,Mich. as they were both lying from the minute they walked into my home.

This review is materially flawed. RestorePro was hired after Mary Bakewell fired another Restoration Co.  RestorePro worked very hard to overcome the difficulties by providing exceptional services and satisfy a difficult set of circumstances and difficult client.  **** is a service provider who we understand is an approved vendor for the Ins. Carrier that insures Mary Bakewell.  It is normally recommended by the Ins. Adjuster and industry professionals to work with a specialty textile cleaner who specializes in decontamination of smoke and soot / odors, when textiles are exposed to smoke.  RestorePro worked very hard to try to help overcome a set of difficult circumstances associated with smoke and fire damage.  **** worked closely with the Ins. Adjuster/ Co. and the Client, under a separate contract directly with Mary Bakewell. Mary Bakewell hired **** directly, so of course she was asked if **** could work in her home and authorized that service directly with **** by contract. The services provided by **** were not part of a contract for services performed by RestorePro.   Accusations of Elder Abuse and pulling off a "Con" again are materially false accusations. The Adjuster would not have paid RestorePro's services invoice or allowed the textiles that were non-restorable to be paid for out of the insurance policy if either of these accusations were remotely valid.  There is an Insurance Adjuster assigned to a claim, and the Adjuster is the fiduciary for the insurance carrier providing indemnification to their insured for loss and services provided.  The insurance co. paid for the services provided by RestorePro to Mary Bakewell with the ability to inspect and dispute if necessary.  The cleaning of smoke required the additional step of repainting the home's interior finishes, while wallpaper finishes were able to be cleaned and restored thru careful care and cleaning procedures;  the quality of the work provided by RestorePro was exceptional in every way.  Upholstery and Carpet were cleaned by RestorePro successfully.  RestorePro even sourced and installed a new, replacement dehumidifier including delivery and set-up, for which re-payment was not received.  No one "lied" to Mary Bakewell.  No one took advantage.  RestorePro associates care about our clients and are empowered to do their absolute best to provide quality and world class service.  Certified, experienced technicians and management worked very hard to provide specialty cleaning services and restoration services.  RestorePro was not paid in full as Mary Bakewell did not pay her deductible and that was a result of Mary Bakewell refusing mail (final invoice) and refusing to communicate after the services were completed.  We are truly sorry Mary Bakewell had a fire and experienced the emotional and difficult interruptions and process of recovery thru cleaning and restoration and also had to deal with loss of/ replacement of smoke damaged items that were  "non restorable".  We stand by the quality of the services we provided and operate ethically.  We do refute the validity of the accusations against RestorePro's associates and services.  We care about our clients and strive to help restore lives thru professional property restoration services.
