******* *******, owner of Borderline Enterprises and I were
“friends” in the sense that our children went to kindergarten together and over
the years, he has been my handyman. I always felt like he did good work and
that I could trust him not to take advantage of me in the sense of overcharging
or fixing things that didn’t need fixed. So, when we decided to redo our master
bedroom, he is the first person that I called.  He came to my house in December where we talked about the project
briefly and what I thought I wanted to have done. Then he came back on January
19th to take a closer look at the space and the basement access and
discuss exactly what I wanted done in the bathroom so that he could give me a
quote. I asked him for a quote that included everything being done by him and
then we would see if we could afford it. I told him that depending on the price
I might have to have my dad help with some of it.  I did mention to ***** that my dad was older
and that his hands were not good so I would prefer to have him do it all if
possible.  I did tell him that we would
paint the bathroom ourselves and demolish the tub.  We agreed that I would buy all of the supplies
and that the quote that he gave me would be just for labor. I showed him a
piece of flooring that I was considering at that time and he stated that he
would not use it but instead would put tile down. I agreed to that suggestion
and the quote was to include tearing out the old bathroom, building my custom
shower, doing the electric to include lighting and outlets, and to have him
install vanity, faucets, tile floor, cabinets, one with a countertop that would
replace where the old tub was removed, as well as install my barn door.  He quoted me $5000 that day and gave me the
name of a store that I could go to and look at tile for the shower and floor.

Please see attachment for detailed description of problem. Also, my boyfriend **** ****** is active duty Air Force National Guard. He is a Master Sargent. I filled out the form so I am not checking the military box on the final page, but I felt this was relevant to point out.
