I purchased glasses in July 2024 and received them the following month. Shortly after I received them, they broke. I have attempted numerous times to resolve this issue via phone calls and in person. Initially they reordered them but when I did not receive a call to pick them up, I went to the facility and was told that they were sent back. They were then supposedly reordered but I again received no phone call and when I returned again, I was told that the frame had been discontinued. At that time, I requested a refund. The office manager claimed she would have to get permission to do so and would call me the following day which again never happened. I attempted again today to visit the establishment and resolve the issue and it was closed.

On 6/24/24 I contacted Midwest Eye Consultants for a quote on removing a small piece of debri from my eye with no insurance and was quoted $95. Inline with what I was charged by another eye dr last year for the same procedure! When I got there I was asked for my health insurance provider. The procedure was quick and simple same as I experienced last time at the other eye dr. ***** they were done I went up to the billing window and was informed that I owed $88 & they were billing my insurance company $380+! I explained what I was told and was talked down to like it was my fault their employee quoted me $95 and not given me a range which had they of given me a range higher than $95 I would of went back to North Manchester eye dr that charged me around $90 last year for the exact same procedure and that it would be impossible to find who told me that since calls are often answered by a call center which the lady that checked me in sounded like the person that quoted me $95. Now I am getting a bill from my insurance provider for $168! How does one quote a price for not having insurance to then quadruple it when they find out you do have insurance without commuting insurance fraud??

Hello, somehow this complaint was sent to the **** region and is just now getting to me. I am the operations director for Central Indiana and happy to take care of this issue!

I have investigated the patient ledger and it looks like the patient was seen for an exam involving foreign body removal. this is $130 for the new patient exam and $200 for the removal. We do have cash pay options for those who do not have insurance, so we can do our best to make care affordable. For those that have insurance, we have a contractual agreement with every insurance that we accept. The correct amount was billed to insurance. The patient was charged less than the quoted cash pay amount.

The total amount charged to the patient was $88.35. $111.44 was billed to insurance. We have a contractual agreement to write off the remaining $130.21.

Looking at the ledger, we have not yet received payment from patient's insurance so I cannot look at the explanation of benefits. However, if insurance were to come back paying less than what is stated above, I will be sure to write off the overage due to ***** being quoted $95.00. Insurance was never billed more than $111.44. Patient was never charged more than $88.35 and will not be charged for anything beyond the $88.35 for that date of service.

Due to me receiving this complaint late in the evening, I will call ***** during a more appropriate time: Monday morning.

Thank you for reaching out and Please let me know if you have any further questions/concerns.
