  We hired B&D Concrete to replace/upgrade our old, dilapidated porch, sidewalk, and driveway and were pleasantly surprised by the cost, process, and mostly, the results.
  We interviewed and received quotes from several area contractors and, while B&D was not the cheapest, they were below the average bid and seemed more experienced and capable than any of the others. The owner, Dave, was on-site and directly involved with the project from beginning to end. He is easy to speak with, he listened to my all of my questions and comments, and he addressed any concerns that I brought up.
  The new concrete looks great and in particular we like the reengineered porch-sidewalk transition: the step between the porch and the sidewalk was replaced with a gently downward sloping walkway that abuts onto the driveway. We have received several complements/inquiries about this project, and I am always pleased to recommend B&D Concrete for their project.

  Just okay. Our porch has a decent sized dip in it where it holds water. When this was brought to Daves attention he agreed there was a dip and offered for an unknown person to come do a skim coat that could possibly be a different color than the rest of our brand new porch. We said no thank you to that considering this was a brand new pour… no other offer was made or suggested. We ended with him saying “for a porch it turned out really nice and is within ACI standards” so just be careful when hiring B&D. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough regardless of how you feel in the end. Its very unfortunate you can’t tell if there will be any issues until it’s hardened and the check has been issued. I would not recommend him and his company or use him again in any future projects.

  I am responding back to the customer Leslie B*****. First its not a porch its a hot tub pad.
  I was contacted by her husband about doing a patio for a hot tub. Short notice because they had another contractor pour the hot tub pad and they were not happy with that company so they took it out. I squeeze them in three to four days later in front of other jobs trying to accommodate them. I end up pouring the slab on Saturday. I had a conversation with Leslie for approximately 10 minutes about if when she was putting a hot tub on the pad. Probably within a year and I told her then if this is going to be flat it could hold water in certain spots as there is no fall for the water to run off. If she's going to use it as a patio we need to put fall on the patio so the water will run off. I thought she understood what could happen. She did complain about 3 days later. I did look at it and there's a less than 1/8" 6-in round spot that was holding water. There is a company that specializes in new pour concrete if they do have spots like this. I was going to pay out of my pocket to take care of it but just wanted to make sure understanding there could be a discoloration. Any time you use two different mixes or trucks it can be different. She informed me as the company's going out there to do the job that she did not want that. I said ACI has standards that is not my standards or a customer standards that is an organization that deals with concrete issues. Don't like this happened but I explained very thoroughly.

  B&D Concrete did an excellent job on my patio. Told him my ideas about how I wanted my patio done, he made suggestions and the plan went together and was done. I get compliments on the patio every time someone new sees it. Five stars from me! ??????????
