My grandma bought her car here and would take it in for regular oil changes. She went in a couple months ago for an oil change, they kept her car overnight, and then quoted her nearly $6,000 in repairs. She's had the car for less than 10 years and barely drives it. I took her up to a shop by me for a second opinion and they found an oil leak that cost less than $600 to repair. This dealership was trying to rip off my grandma, because they saw an older woman they thought they could take advantage of. Before we got the second opinion, my mom called to try and clarify, and they were incredibly rude on the phone. Do not go here. They are not trustworthy.

I recently drove over an hour to visit Progressive Chevy in Massillon, Ohio, and unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. Despite prior assurances, I was met with unfulfilled promises and poor customer service. I waited over four hours while staff dealt with computer issues, only to find that the vehicle I came to see was not prepared as promised.
Adding to the frustration, I overheard staff speaking negatively about the dealership's ownership—a disheartening reflection of the work culture. It became evident that customer care was not a priority, as I felt rushed and disregarded, like just another number to move along.
Regrettably, this visit was a complete waste of time. I cannot in good conscience recommend this dealership and would advise others to look elsewhere for a more professional and respectful car-buying experience.

I took our sons car in because there appeared to be oil leaking from somewhere. I have dealt with Progressive Chevrolet for 30+ yrs and know the owners. I have defended this business in the past when people asked why I dealt with them. When they looked it over they said the oil pan and the oil cooler needed replaced and the cost was $2900. We were leaving for a cruise and told them when they called to go ahead and fix it because he needed his car with us going to be gone for 2 weeks. When we picked it up and drove it home(less than 2 miles) there was now coolant leaking on the driveway. I called back and spoke with Mr. M****** the shop supervisor and was told to bring it back in. He tells me that the water pump went bad and I said driving home less than 2 miles it went bad? He said yes and I refused to pay it. I spoke with Tim S****** the owner(since we knew him from dealing with them 30+ yrs) and he agreed to wave the cost. They replaced the water pump and we drove it home and there was coolant still leaking. I called back and spoke to Mr. M****** again and he said bring it back. He called and said now that the coolant reservoir had cracks in it eventhough I never had an issue with it. I had them replace it and drove it home and still had coolant leaking. I took it back and then was told now that the radiator had a pin hole and the output hose was bad. I told them to shove it up their ***. I took it to another shop and immediately they said it was a blown head gasket and the radiator and hose were bad and that more than likely is what caused all the other issues. So because of their incompetence, in total it cost $6100 when it was done. When the second shop fixed it I had no problems after the first trip. STAY CLEAR OF THEIR REPAIR SHOP!!!!!!!!! We were 30+ year customers and purchased new vehicles every 3yrs and was treated like this.

Took our truck in for transmission work on a Wednesday, was told we would at least get a call Thursday to let us know what was going on. Drove by multiple times all day just to see our truck hadn’t even moved from the spot it was in when we dropped it off. Finally got a call on Friday saying they took it out multiple times Thursday, let it run for hours and drove it 60 miles but again the truck had never been moved until Friday when they took it out. When returning to pick up our truck we discovered a crack in our windshield. They are refusing to do anything about it even after showing them a picture of the windshield on Wednesday right before the truck was dropped off and there was no crack. Told us “even if it happened while one of our guys was driving it, it still falls on you.” When mentioned that if we brought their rental back with a cracked windshield it would be on us to fix it but their response was just “we aren’t talking hypotheticals here” as they proceeded to hang up on us after asking to speak to a higher up.
