Our park was bought by ********** ********** ***** ***** ******* May 2022. They brought in 5 Star Metering and began to make us pay for water. Since then we have had nothing but problems. My meter broke in the Dec freeze. I was told over the phone to tamper with my lines and cut to reroute pipe because it was Christmas and no one could get to us. I told them I wouldn't tamper with my lines. After contacting park management he in writing told me 5 star gave us permission to cut the pipe. So I kept that screenshot and my husband got us water back on. We went 5 days without water then. Since we have been without water almost daily weekly and every holiday. We didn't have it again for 5 more days over Easter and again just at memorial day. I have contacted the ***** due to the water being gross. I won't even give it to my dog. My newest complaint comes from the last 3 days. In the last 3 days I was sent a bill for $65.95. The next day it jumped to $390.95 and last night it jumped to $406.15. I am certain I will get some excuse and have to pay or lose water. This company has been awful, rude and uncaring. It's well water as well. I'm not even sure how well water cost so much.Customer Answer

So my trailer park I live at got bought out by management in September and the new management contracted with 5 Star Metering to have us tenants start paying for water. Meters were installed. Come December when we had that big freeze, my pipes burst. I fixed it, then realized after fixing it I still wasn't getting any water. It was pouring all outside because my meter was broken. They had installed the meters incorrectly! I called them in January (still not being able to have water) and the lady said she couldn't get anyone to come fix the meters for at least a few weeks. However, she said I was getting a credit on my account and would not be charged (I HAVE THIS PHONE CALL RECORDED) Since then, I have had to take showers, do laundry, GET MY DOG WATER from family and friends' homes. AND THIS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER IN NORTHEAST OHIO! Fast forward to today (STILL HAVEN'T HAD WATER SINCE DECEMBER), a guy from 5 Star Metering shows up at my door saying if I don't pay my balance that he was here to disconnect my water. BALANCE??? I HAVEN'T HAD WATER! Apparently, the company started charging people a flat fee for water--I was never told this in January by the lady on the phone. My ebills were going to spam--which that is on me for not checking--but I assumed I didn't have to pay because--I STILL WASN'T GETTING WATER--MY METER WAS BROKEN! After the gentleman left, I called 5 Star (same lady from January) and asked about it. She said I had an overdue balance (A BALANCE? I HAVEN'T BEEN GETTING ANY WATER! YOU FAILED TO INSTALL YOUR METERS INCORRECTLY! (Let me also say, MOST of my neighbors have had the same issue with them as well. So I am here--disconnected--STILL WITHOUT WATER. Having to shower, do laundry, get water for my dog from loved ones' homes--BUT WITH A BALANCE--AND--HAVE TO PAY A RECONNECTION FEE! Like I said--I recorded my phone call to 5 Star Metering in January--and I will be taking legal action if this is not resolved.Initial Complaint

5 star metering is a very crooked company,they doubled our water bill for no accurate reasoning at all, I called them on 3-3-2023.. and ask for a explanation on the reasoning behind the increase they gave numerous reasonings.. first reason: They do not have employees that do not know how to properly read the meters,second reason: We have a leak. Which we do not my husband checked under our trailers after we had our snow storm. Reason 3: They're short staffed due to injuries ect.. To me those reasonings are not our fault we should not be held accountable for those reasonings.. Then I told her," I understand those reasonings but those are not our problems or faults. I told her you need to understand prior to the company that bought our trailer court we never had to pay for water,trash ect. It was all included in our bill, she proceeded to say," well don't you think that the prior owners was pocketing the money. I very sternly said excuse me mam, but you need to understand that's my uncle your talking about, he's the one that took care of this place,and took the money each month.. she got quiet and I hung up.. this is very much false accusations and discrimination from a so called business.. this company has had so many complaints against them and something needs to be done.Customer Answer

At this time, I have not been contacted by 5 Star Metering, LLC regarding complaint ID *********They never contacted me they still insisted on me paying this bill when I called the first time. They did not acknowledge my issue with the entire situation all they said when I issued my concern is that they do not have people that know how to read the meters. i know they changed the number this is the number I have ************.

I lived in this trl park since 2015 I’m on disability and hooked up to oxygen machine Since I lived here the water is not drinkable I wanted even give to my dog I have a water filter on my trl It turns red I changed my plumping Did not help Anyway the trl park was brought by ***** reality In September They have lots of new rules some good some not so good You might want to check them out seams they buying a lot of trl parks They are very ignorant to the people here And seams they makes lots of threats to us tenants 3 warning and they say they will throw me out Now 5 star meters They seam to be having trouble putting meter on my trl They guess my bill to be $65 Now park manager tells us It’s $15 a month for meter reading $5 for sewage If you use water or not It cost $5 1000gals in 9 dollars 1000 gals out Now that bill is for 3000 gals I live alone Can’t see me using that much water And how can they charge for water you can’t drink And the sewage has been polluting the steam that run by here The last owner just keep paying the fines ***** ***** estates name of trl park I might be screwing myself saying this Maybe this park needs to be shut down Until the fix these problem I appreciate any help you can give us here in this park Thank youCustomer Answer

****** * ********** Well that’s the way they do business I have my meter on now finally so I am not being over charge on my bill The water is still no good I got sick bathing in it There is a hole in my back goes to my lung Now I took many bathes when in ***** **** in City water Here it affected my lungs I have a lung doctor Can back me up on this I’m not looking for anything for me Should be fixed for the kids who live here like the sewage they get fined for Polluting the river runs behind this place They been paying fines the last owner this owner I been here since Like 2014. 2915 This place been sold twice Someone needs to clean this mess up Thanks for your help
